Game Day - Tiges v Deez Round 20, 2023

When will the club officially question the umpiring of our matches? Plenty of examples today with the worst (just) on Broad missing the high and then giving a HTB
EXACTLY. We honestly have nothing to lose. Nothing. The ARC cost us a final and we get penetrated every single week.

Why don't we unleash fury?? Adelaide unloaded after ONE decision.

It's so so so apparent that the AFL hate us, so why not call their corrupt incompetence out?

I just don't get it

Amax

said it a few times but not a lot has changed since dimmq left. Think Mini's influence has been greatly enhanced. He was Afterall a senior assistant under Dimma so already had plenty of influence.
Yep. Our form is still pretty ordinary. We are a chance against mid teams and win some but we still generally play rubbish against poor teams like Hawks and Eagles and have unconvincing wins. We don't really get close to the better teams. To Mini's credit he has been able to get us over the line in some close ones; something Dimma completely lost the plot with post 2020.

The best game of the year.

At times the best we’ve played.

At times the best pressure we‘ve applied.

Combination of shocking umpiring and our old timers looking lost in a high pressure game.

We also ran out of gas. Gawn outstanding but Soldo battled his arse off. Effort not the issue.

Ever seen him play like that before? No? And I bet you never will again.

Helps when you play against a backline that performed as badly as ours today.
He is an underrated player.

Versatile.

Very good defender who can intercept well. To me he was my concern when I saw his name as an in, and forward.

His start confirmed that!

He isn’t a hack.

He may not kick 5-6 again but he has kicked I think multiple goals before.

Swingman. No hack.

Hope this game shows we need to make some tough calls at the end of the year. Starting with the Grimes captaincy and Jack and Cotch's retirements. Don't think Mini can make those calls
100%. Start of the year we were told Cotch and Jack would be rested throughout the season. They are both struggling. Grimes is struggling. Should have held off contract discussions til end of year. Pickett should go, might not have a choice anyway. Tarrant is retired. Only one of the oldies worthy in the side atm is Dusty. Retiring too many at once means the non-performing young players get to stay on the list. With no good draft picks we're not in a good position for the next few years imo. Should have stopped chasing unrealistic premiership expectations 2 years ago. We can still make finals but what's the point?

Our defence which has been good over the past few weeks was dismal today. Killed us (along with the umps).

Umpired out of it when it mattered.

@&#* the AFL and their sh*tshow of a “competition”

Yeah they really pummelled our prostrate when it most mattered

Dylan turning in a performance three times as bad as his previous career worst performance accounts for almost all the margin though i reckon

Switched over to WC v Nth and Nth player taps the ball short distance in front of him then tackled, no free kick. Many times today we were being grabbed by an arm to slow us down, no free kick. Ump standards are poor in all games.

He drops plenty when he is on his own. Another on HFF today when we were surging forward in third quarter; turnover resulted and ball straight back in Dees forward line. He does it every week it seems. Needs to be dropped.
That’s another level of defectiveness beyond the ability or willingness to contest. My biggest gripe with him is that he’s as weak as *smile* when the ball is in the air. He sets an incredibly bad example. Terrible. You just can’t have that in your team every week.

Should have been dropped weeks ago.

Happy with the effort has ,never at any stage did I give us any chance at all ,just nothing taking a mark in our forward line.

No.

Unless the new coach wants a captain in the twos

Sadly, dylan is more finished than jack or cotchy.

Hes done
Yet he was given another contract for next year? Is the club really across where we are at? Grimes has a had a poor year and looks done but we give him another year?

Yeah he has been ordinary all year.
Our Triple premiership champion is done

Petty career high goals 2, today 6. Melksham most goals this year 2, today 4. Van Rooyen career high goals 3, today 4.

For me our backline was just too poor but yes the gates opened in the last.
71 f50 entries, that's nothing to do with the defenders

Dusty 3 goals and 2 goal assists but where is he in the last? Look elsewhere for blame.
Oh so your telling me the likes of Bakes, Shai, and Dusty not getting any ball but sitting in the Forward line when the ball hasn't been within Cooee of it, isnt an issue ?

Right, that's some pure Football genius right there and Hey, we all love DUSTY but can be objective about certain things when its called for.
