Game Day - Tiges v Deez Round 20, 2023

The umpire closest to the play called advantage the non-officiating called it back. Comedy capers.
Correct. Clear as day you could see the ump pay advantage.

4 umpires is a joke. Worst it's ever been.

Absolute cluster *smile*

Yet again another insane example of why I have no respect what so ever for AFL umpires.

They bounce the ball 2 metres outside the circle, clearly favouring Gawn, and they simply call “play on”. Even the sycophantic commentators were shocked.

Zero respect. None.
It’s not like they have no clear view or if it’s a 50/50.
The officiating umpire has no excuse but to recall the ball due to his error.
He has the gall to allow play to continue at a clear disadvantage to the Richmond ruck.

And it happened earlier as well.

But let’s shoot the pea out the end of the whistle whenever there is an opportunity to call a free for something subjective or doubtful.

Hopper picks up ball and then dropped it JUST 5 MM when hearing a free against us.
Pedantic 50 metre penalty at best. Not sure Hopper was supposed to give the ball back when the whistle went almost simultaneously.

The Rioli non free was worse.
Imagine just ONE game that wasn't influenced by incompetent, useless umpires.

Just ONE where the players could determine the result.

*smile* I'm so over this *smile*
Contrary to popular opinion, umpiring is not that difficult. It just needs rational decision making & basic game understanding.

I don’t where the umpires come from but there’s a distinct lack of feel for the game amongst most. Rules don’t help, but even so - just adjudicate on what you see.

It was instinct to pick up the ball, and as you said he let go of it as soon as the free was called.
100% THIS.

He's programmed to get the footy. Millisecond that made no difference.

But hey when Chad Warner boots the ball into the crowd we cop the "come on guys... Common sense"

Rain coming?

Going to be even more physical game as this shoot can’t continue you would think..

Disappointed with those last few entries.

Just rushed kicks.

If Gawn does that , someone has to man him and cause a contest.

Our backline has looked shaky at times but their backline hasn’t been allowed to intercept at will.

Think May & Lever have taken 3 ? and Max intercepted 1-2 late??

Our caos game , running game when it’s on is causing Melb some problems .

Soldo tired a bit towards the end of the second, which might explain why he at least didn’t push forward when Gawn did.

Overall playing a physical game and loving it as a supporter.

Half of the job done.

Would you bring on the Ferrari and sub say Grimes who looks either injured or out of sorts??

Loving the contributions of two players who most wanted to be either sub or out in Pickett & Mansell. Mansell’s physical attack on the man, legitimately has been a joy.

Got to continue to get more run.

We are in this game.

Nah, respectfully disagree T2011.

Every single rule can be interpreted as right or wrong. It's on the AFL.

The rules are a joke.

It's killing footy. Who'd be an umpire? If this is the cream of the crop then footy is completely cooked.
