Game day Tigers V The World

An excellent win even though we were not that good in the clearance department.
Need to fix that, but don't know how, and we will still be a force to reckon with.

any word on Hoppers injury yet? Apparently was having a scan on saturday. Would like to know if it was a bad corky or an actual strain/tear

The positioning of Mansell as a forward was a stroke of tactical genius.
Damien is one of the great coaches, across all codes of sport.
Fifty per cent of it is analysis too.
Analysing the opposition's weak spots, then making the move.
Also liked how Dion spread across half forward in the WC game.

Went into work this morning. A handbaggers supporter greeted me ( usually an ok guy), asked me how much did we pay the umpires. Without missing a beat I replied “ not sure, what’s the going rate these days?” :)

All words through the media seem to be that 'he is gonna miss Dreamtime', so assuming it's just that 1 game. We hope!

Good on Blobby for calling Blicavs and Oliver out:

4. ALSO, Fine the
BAD actors

We can’t encourage what Mark Blicavs seemed to try to win a free kick on Friday night.

Early in the final quarter, the Cat was tackled by Richmond’s Kamdyn McIntosh. It was slingy, but not dangerous, but Blicavs appeared to try to win a free kick by banging his own head into the MCG turf.

The action stood out because there was a slight delay between when his body stopped moving and his head contacted the turf.

If it was an attempt to win a free kick – and players will do almost anything to win one – we can’t have it in the game.

Some players might call it a smart play, but with more policing of dangerous tackles, the last thing we need is players exaggerating them.

The same can be said of Clayton Oliver’s flop when Hawthorn’s Jai Newcombe landed a soft-ish blow to his midriff.

A smiling Oliver won the free kick for Melbourne.

That also stood out because Oliver stands up in contests when three opposition players are trying to tackle him, yet collapses when Newcombe taps him.

Smart? Maybe, but it’s hardly what we want in the game. Perhaps a fine for poor acting would be a deterrent.

and fair enough to him , they were well done on their expected free % and us well up %
doesn't that constitute evidence cheating ?

Funny listening to those calls. The absolute hate for the tigers is right there for all to see. I've rarely heard such an immediate backlash to a decsion.

Amazingly Cameron Ling (in a battle with Darcy & Bartel for most boring commentator ever) says the AFL needs to clarify what a push out is!! Hawkins would have 300 less goals if they outlwaed the "push out".

Tigers get the rub of the green and its mass outrage.

I wish there was was such a clamour when the ARC farce occurred.

There was also a far bigger pushout in the Hawks / Melbourne game on Saturday. 2 hands pushing into the middle of Mays back by Lewis, but May doesn't throw himself forward into a flop like O'Connor did and no outrage from the commentators, because you know, who cares, Melbourne were thrashing them anyway.

Funniest part was Ling sooking and covering himself saying he's not commenting as a Geelong supporter, and also Daisy Pussy been sure of herself.

Just back on Scottys whinging about inexperience / young team.

I took the Under 27's only from both sides and funnily enough, we had more in that age bracket. Ours are more experienced because we have played them whereas Geelong just added more old codgers.

I'm actually really pleased with our group there. If we can add a few from the list of players that we know we have drafted over the last few years, then we are well on our way towards rebounding quickly. This whole middling rhetoric IMO is wrong.

Young (24), Cumberland (22), Biggie (21), Bradke (21), Dow (21), Bauer (20), MRJ (20), Sonsie (20), Banks (20), Gibcus (20), Brown (19), Green (19), Smith (18), Campbell (18).

But I thought he'd lost the players and his good assistants who were the real reason for past success?

Scott's whining and gaslighting is nearing Trump proportions.
Michael Gleeson in the Age pointed out that Scott, in his presser, claimed that the Cats had 5 plyers with under 25 games experience.
Er, no the Cats had 4 players with under 25 games experience. It was the Tigers that had 5. Ooops

Yeah he can't say anything nice about us. It was pretty clear we were the better team on Friday and instead of being a good sportsman, instead of acknowledging that and saying "they were better tonight" and then lead into a positive like Dimma does about having to learn from this and get better, Scotty was all about, what they had done wrong, and poor them having a "young" team etc.
