The Saints are just working harder both ways, and that’s why we’re always on the back foot. That, and guarding space, which isn’t working for us.

On the positive side, I’m enjoying Dow’s game, Bauer is showing something, and everything I see from Coulthard tells me we’ve found something.

Our backline is now one of if not the worst backlines in the league. Grimes, Broad look shot. Young is ok defending but a *smile* kick.

And Young is just a bit slow in his decisions and execution. Not quite up to AFL standard for me.

Unbelievably bad decision to take it off Cotchin because of clowns in the media putting the heat onto Cotchin.
Grimes and Nakas properly the worse 2 for the role.

Might say something about Jack that the players have continually overlooked him as a captain. Think you will find Jack is a very me me me player. Nothing wrong with that especially as a fwd but just don't think hes captain material

Meanwhile Dimma will be getting a nice fat pay rise for the next 5 years while suntanning on the Coast. I love Dimma for what he gave us but if he knew his time was up he should have called it and not gone all in with Hopper and Taranto and now screwed the list for years to come

We have had 2 good 1st rounders in 12 yrs.
Its not like we would've picked up gold with those picks.

Backline is completely disorganised. I cannot see any positive impact by having Grimes as a captain.

Our players never move back from the mark when it is our ball. When the play on is called the opposition close down the space quickly and our kicks are rushed and mostly ineffective. This is a coaching issue.

The kick it long, zone defence duo does no favours to a slow, low skilled side.

The media blame Hardwick for Marvel, but it’s not. The ground is cursed for us. Richo hurt his foot there early in 2000 and that was it for his season. The flogging by Geelong was there. Brown broke his leg there (for some reason we had to play Melbourne there!). Flogged by St Kilda and Sydney there. Pretty sure Chris Hyde suffered a fractured skull at the place.

Team has checked out. Work rate poor & no plan B to a team that chips & charges - that’s a Hardwick legacy. Obvious thing to have done was play man on man (which they’ve never done but needed to).

Time for coaching clean out & hard conversations with lots of aged stars who look disinterested. Re-set of list and playing style needed.

Grimes should have retired - shell of what he once was. Defence is badly broken as well - defended as individuals not as a collective.

Only positive today has been Dow - best game he’s played.

Perfectly sums it up. Entire team has completely checked out. While Scott tells his players to put it all on the line to play finals this year, as they never know when it will come againfor the bombers, our mentality seems to be the complete opposite. I seriously doubt mini is even mentioning the F word.

Give the guy a chance. Only started footy in 2019 and his first year in the big league. Still learning and providing he gets good coaching he will be good reliable longterm player for us. About out best defender today
