Game Day Round 5 vs Crows

Reckon Crows will roll a few at home this year.
Let's see where we are at the bye.

To be honest I thought we didn't look that bad for most of the game. Where we lose it is when we can't stop the other side getting a run on, and obviously some work on conceding scores from clearances. But, when we got a run on they couldn't stop us either. It is a factor of the game after the ridiculous rule changes that there is more scoring from clearances and it is damned hard to stop a team who are winning the ball from clearance. I'm not sure if the stats would back this up but I get the impression teams are stringing multiple goals together more at the moment.

Still, not looking that bad against Adelaide is not going to make you a contender, Adelaide are rebuilding quite well but not close to contending.

first quarter cough up the ball twice, kicking forward. He needs to get better in this area.
I don't doubt that. But there's a tendency, particularly in the match day thread, for people to exaggerate both how good someone is when we're going well or how "bad" someone is when we're not.

One of the best crumbers we had was moved to the back line.
At the time though he’d been in woeful form as a forward , pretty sure he was dropped a couple of times . Wouldn’t hate to see him go back forward as I think we’ve got more options across half back

A type of forward I believe we need is the midsize , quick, sharpshooter , atm we basically have the big fellas who pretty much need to mark the ball or we have Bolton, Baker and George crumbing , I really think we need that different option going forward , also someone who can push up and then deliver to the leading forwards inside 50.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Skip spend time in the forward 50 allowing our young mids to get more important midfield time as well as getting both Bakes and Bolton up field more .

Obviously Dustin makes a massive difference to this , however we may have to learn to live without Dustin sooner rather then later .

Midfield and ability to win clearances is the key. If the engine works well then the entry by the opposition inside their forward line is slow and ugly. This will assist the defence. If the engine works well then we get the ball inside 50 quicker. We seem to have lost our run and carry. Football is a simple game.

Apart from Prestia we need to rethink the midfield. Try Ross Baker Pickett and RCD in the guts to get the first touch on the ball. Let them get the ball to the outside runners like Bolton Hugo Sonsie

Have a listen to this, Tex the racist Walker. He just broke the player's code. I cannot wait until this grub comes back to play at the G

I would have got a month': Walker slams Cotchin's 'deliberate' kick

VETERAN Adelaide forward Taylor Walker has hit out at Richmond star Trent Cotchin's "deliberate" kick at him during the Crows' upset win.
Walker, who served a six-game suspension for making a racist comment during a SANFL game last year, claims the AFL's Match Review Officer would have ruled him out for a month if reacted how Cotchin did.
The three-time Tigers premiership skipper escaped with a $2000 fine for kicking Walker during the third quarter of Saturday's match at Adelaide Oval.

Walker angry with Cotchin after this fiery clash

Taylor Walker isn't happy with Trent Cotchin after the Tigers skipper appears to extend his boot out
Walker shoved Cotchin over the boundary line during the match, with the Richmond midfielder then lifting his leg up towards the former Crows captain, prompting a furious reaction.

The 31-year-old, who booted five goals in a match-winning display against Richmond, was still frustrated by the incident on Tuesday.
"Especially when it's deliberate," Walker told Triple M when host Chris Dittmar said Cotchin needed a bigger sanction from the AFL.
"I tell you what, if the shoe was on the other foot I would have been missing the next month."

He also claimed GWS star Toby Greene, who is set to return from a six-game ban for pushing an umpire last year, would have been suspended for an entire season for an incident like Cotchin's.

Walker has returned to Adelaide's team in stunning form, kicking nine goals in two appearances despite being unable to play games at any level during his high-profile suspension.

still hurting over 2017 ?
Yep - what a load of cheap garbage from a player. You just dont make personal comments about other players - especially on other teams. Remember this wanker payed for an extra ticket for the seat next to him on the plane home in 2017 for the cup. He just cant get over the fact they lost... hahahaha

I would love Cotch to be asked about this in an interview, look at the camera and say ‘I’d like to apologise to Tex Walker … for winning the 2017 cup.’
