GAME DAY - Round 14 - Tigers Vs Aints

Put Hopper in, Lynch at FF and Gibcus down back and we look a very good team

Bring them all back when fit and ready. No need to rush them, but no need to ice them either.

But who do you take out? Two talls and a big body midfielder. Samson for Lynch, but Samson has been doing well. Miller out? On last nights game you want to keep playing him? Down back is even tougher to see who misses for Biscuit.

In the midfield, dunno. But Hopper comes back in.

Ins &outs when available
Some shuffling of positions required.
Hopper for Ralphsmith.
Lynch for Ryan.
Bubcus for Young.
Pickett for MRJN.
That line up can cut deep into finals

Good changes... Maybe add Cumbo for Judd?

Thinking about the bottom 4/6 going into the deep end ...

I had my doubts about Miller, but Ive come to think he's going too make it (just needs to get a bit better in the air - otherwise, he has shown that his instinctive ground level play is excellent is as good as anyone)

Ross, despite a terrible two minutes in the first quarter, I thought played well. He gets harshly marked here (I really wanted to be the high-possession inside mid he looked like when he first started, but starting to see the value in his outside / winger game)

Samson for a young big fella is holding up alright (some good moments, some moments he looks slow for the pace of the game but overall he's holding his spot - at least until Lynchmond is back)

HRS was sub so you need to find someone else for Hopper to replace from the 22.

Can't stand him. We stood by him through the toughest time of his life and at his first opportunity dogs us and asks to be traded whilst under contract. He's a flog.
Didn’t want to put in the hard work to break into a premiership winning team, so left for a team that would play him regardless.

About 5:30mins to play in the first and they replay Balta and King grappling, Higgins comes bounding in to blindside Balta and Balta flexes to shoulder bumps Higgins into next week.

Grimes was rag-dolling Higgins too, no love lost there.

Haha that was Higgins, awesome. I saw it from the other end of the ground, but yeah big grapple, Higgins comes in trying to blindside Noah, Noah sees him and goes the bump and sends Higgins flying onto his arse.

This talk that he was on the periphery is a false narrative though. He played 43 games in his first 3 seasons with us and missed a significant amount of time whilst at the club with his brain injuries. The rhetoric that he left for more opportunity is false, he was given plenty of opportunity with us.

I mean in his 1st season he played 20 times out of 24 games in a premiership winning team.

If he'd stayed he would have played a lot of football in 2021 and onwards. This talk is false. He boned us because he showed no loyalty to us for standing with him through his health issues, but because his boyhood club came calling.
He was dropped after rd 10, didnt play the next 3, then came back for 1 then was dropped after rd15 and didnt get back in the team. By the end of 2020 he wasnt in our best 22, and only played 1 game in the last 12. That is periphery, and there was no gurantee he would play more in 2021. While we all like to think he should have stuck it out and fought for his place, his career was on the line, and going to the Saints gave him an extra year to cement himself, and at a place where he was more likely to play.

We'll never know - but I've always thought that if he'd been getting a game with us in the 2019 and 2020 seasons - we wouldn't have won those 2 flags.
Can't see St Kilda winning one either if he's in their team.
Did well to cope with his brain bleed issue but will only ever be a handy player in an average team.

Did others notice this? after Short's second goal, every time the ball went into our forward line, the st kilda's defence were panicking?

Why was the PRE so empty? I thought the cheer squad sat out in the rain.

I was in my usual area, Roaming Tiger Bay, and I have sat in the rain before but last night we decided to just go back to standing room. Have been unwell lately so the added stress of getting soaked would not have been good. It was pretty darned full until the rain came and it was certainly quite packed in the standing room while the rain bucketed down.

I suppose we're turning into wimps in our old age ;)
