Game Day RD 17 - Tigers V Suns

What's worse this or Sydney?
We aren't any good
*smile* off the recruiters who constantly *smile* up at the draft. Where's the kids??
Where's our first rounders

Sell Martin to the highest Sydney bidder. Tap Edwards, Cotch, Jack and Lambert on the shoulder and say thanks champs time go pack it up. George, Aarts, Martyn, Dow, RCD, Castagna, George, Castagna..did i mention Castagna can all take their bags and find another club. Whoever else i missed can join them. Also time to have a chat with Dimma and tell him thanks for everything but its time to move on and then start fresh again.

Softer than a dairy queen in darwin (and i dont mean richmond)

That was Richmond from 10 years ago.
Flaky, soft and showboating.
We have done it all year.
Every game we have lost we could have quite easily won.
It's sad but our premiership flame just got snuffed.

The errors are one thing but the desire and hunger is another. Nobody can tell me we didn’t ease off after going 40 points up. Our pressure in disputed situations or when they had the ball dropped right off. It was patently clear to see. We’re not hungry enough. And Edwards effort with 50 seconds left was just one of many confirmations of that.

We lack talent and finish. And when we don’t bring any intensity or stop pressuring, we get totally outclassed and run over. A 40 point blown lead. AGAIN.

Big changes required.

Switched it off thinking the game was done. Nearly fell off my chair reading the end result some time later. Huge in the context of the season and one that will sting for a while I'd imagine.

Coasted after half time. Simple as that.

Unfortunately the follow on effect is every team will believe they are always in the game against us, no matter the score. This is a difficult reputation to shake.

So when does this type of loss stop being a player problem and start being a coaching problem?

The loss sucks, but the reality is we don’t have the players.

Castagna’s miss was horrifying, but there were plenty of moments in the last Qtr where we either made the wrong decision or executed poorly.

We’ve seen it a number of times already this season.

I really don’t see the point if worrying about finals at this point; we’re not a side that’s building that is looking for finals experience, and we will not make a meaningful contribution to the finals.

I hope the club looks to the future from this point inward.

The thing is, you are right that happened and after the Suns played like they did in the 1st it was always likely to happen, but those momentum killing moments from George multiple times, Aarts from dead in front, MRJ from a good position, Pickett from a good position. These things killed us today IMO, they are a good clearance team with Rowell, Miller and Anderson in their midfield so they were always getting up on us at some point, which is why those counter punches were so important today. Our counter punches that should have been knock outs in that last 10-15 minutes, were weak as *smile*.
