G20 protests/APEC

Re: G20 protests

Thankfully you aren't running the show, or our country would become an embarrassment of the highest proportions.

Yes, lets allow the rioters to run free, damaging as much property, injuring as many police horses and police as they like without any punishment.

We'd become a laughing stock.

So far you have not made a valid point. You have simply made ridiculous statements which you've backed up by exactly zero facts. Surely its obvious you've made an error in judgement when you post in a thread and get absolutely no support.

I agree with most of what has been said here. The G20 protest wouldn't have got out of the hand if the anarchists were shot and wounded by rubber bullets as soon as they began the anarchy.

Fogot to add the smiley at the end. Sorry. Here it is: ::)

Thankfully you neanderthals aren't running the show, otherwise a small group of C grade rioters would be seriously injured.

Dictionary definition of riot: a noisy, violent, and uncontrolled public gathering

Are you seriously condoning these acts gypsy? I'm all for public protests etc but these mindless thugs just wanted to create anarchy. Nobody forced them to behave in this manner.

Re: G20 protests

Anyone who deliberately harms a police horse, brave and noble creatures that they are, should be tied to a wall to face a firing squad of kicking horses. Trouble is those beautiful creatures wouldn't hurt anyone deliberately.

Gypsy,
So kicking horses and throwing urine, isn't a bit "neanderthal-like" to you?

And what exactly did the police do that was so 'barbaric'...how many protesters were killed, or even injured?
There were more police that were injured than protesters...and more horses injured than protesters even!
And finally, how do you think the police should have handled this situation, when a mob is throwing any loose objects, such as wheelie-bins, milk-crates, etc at them?

Like 'Interested' remarked...you haven't made a valid point at all....all you have done is condemn the police for their actions.
The hole you are digging for yourself is getting bigger and bigger with each post...

Good....refused bail....and another reason I want dual citizenships banned!
Of course, he'll get off because of "mental health issues"......I'll have to reignite the 'Justice' thread when he gets off...

The court heard the 28-year-old commerce student, who arrived in Australia from Turkey in 2001, suffered from schizophrenia and bipolar disorder but was not taking medication at the moment.
Sari, who holds dual Australian and Turkish citizenship, denied his involvement in the protest to police, who he allegedly referred to as "peasant pigs" and "robots".
He also allegedly asked police to turn the airconditioner off in their car because it was "causing global warming".
Ms Dawes remanded Sari in custody until February 12, noting he needed treatment for his mental illness.

He asked the police to turn off the air-conditioner because it caused global warming? ???
How about the oxygen this cretin is thieving, did he think of that?

Just read the article. Here we have human garbage in its most disgusting and loathsome form, and what's more it's foreign garbage with another countries citizenship. To me it seems like a God given opportunity to send him back home (obviously someone that behaved as anti-socially and violently as this disgusting slimeball did toward our police has no emotional ties to this country, apart from hatred of course).

Personally I don't give a stuff about the civil libertarians, the bleeding heart liberals, the social engineers creating this thing called multi-culturalism that no one ever voted on and yet was imposed upon us. They all say that we can't do it as in the case of Sheik 'I'm just a randy out of control horndog' al-Hilaly. That he's an 'Australian' now and the scumbag needs help. What he needs is a one way ticket out of Australia. It just makes me sick...

Re: G20 protests

Tygrys...you ARE a bloody legend mate....great,bonza post!
Ive been arguin this since I was 14 and told I couldnt learn what I wanted to.......
Civil Libertarians,do-gooders,god-botherers,wayward social psycologists,over-paid and obnoxious judges that cant see the wood for the trees, and predatory and opportunistic scum called lawyers and barristers who clean up financially out of these affairs..........they all need to re-learn what is true respect for others and that classic idealogical fact.....
"the law is the law...whether its a good law or otherwise'
And to wayward immigrants and newcomers who dont like our way of life and our law....on ya bike.......up the river onion.......wrack off.....take a long walk of a short pier......leave our beloved country and our people and way of life the bloody hell alone...........

Can't argue with that! ;)

::)

Clean bowled.

Don't think Mr.Sari knows anything about cricket (and doesn't care either)....but put a wheelie-bin near him, and he can roll his arm over very nicely! :hihi

Re: G20 protests

Then do ya know what would happen Liverpool?
He,d be  "callled"for chucking, then he,d whinge and go and squeal like a stuck pig to an international tribunal or some such thing and accuse Australia of being racist....... :p ;)

Re: G20 protests

What a lot of fuss and angst over one small little man.
At least he'll be getting a trial. (And hopefully the punishment he deserves.)

That's the problem though Anduril, and what a few of us have complained about on this very thread....that the justice system, especially weak, pathetic judges, are a disgrace.
This bloke won't get the punishment he deserves, you just watch....he'll get a fine, maybe some community service, and a slap on the wrist.
Its weak as *smile*!

People like Sari treat the law here with contempt:

When asked if he was an Australian citizen, Sari allegedly replied: "Yes, you can't deport me. You can't do anything to me. Your laws are pathetic."

http://www.theage.com.au/news/national/you-cant-deport-me-rioter-told-police/2006/11/20/1163871341100.html

His real punishment should be the Australian citizenship stripped, and with the Turkish passport he holds...use that to deport him back to Turkey.

My opinion is that dual citizenship should be banned....its a farce.
Its like supporting the Tigers, but when things are going bad, we all support the Eagles or someone as 'insurance'...its having 2-bob each-way, sitting on a fence.......what a joke!
You're either (in this case) a Turk, or an Aussie....you can't be both.

If, for whatever reason, they have to allow dual citizenships....they should have a law where if you commit a crime in this country, then the Australian citizenship can be stripped, and you are then deported to your 'other country'.
