Not brave enough unfortunately

Has nothing to do with bravery, any mug can sell the farm for the lure of bright city lights and the promise of success. Gaining a high cost recruit guarantees only two things, you pay with picks or players and you pay an over inflated wage. There are no other guarantees, especially success.

Must be some kind of record, three years in and GWS have already had five top 15 picks walk out on them, Tyson, Adams, Boyd, Jaksch and O'Rourke. Most teams haven't had that many high picks in the last decade.

Oh well, plenty more where that came from.
It's going to keep happening. The club is simply not attractive to kids. You can understand it. They see their mates get drafted to strong clubs and they're up there in that little enclave they have in western Sydney, watching their mates play in front of big crowds and in winning sides, why wouldn't they want to do the same?

GWS - Where the best young talent goes to serve out their apprenticeship, and past-it old players go to die.

Better them going to Melbourne FC, were young talent goes to die.

we should give Treloar an offer he can't refuse

This should be a given.
The last GUN player we have aggressively traded for was Nathan Brown way back in 2004. Nothing but rejects and re-treads ever since.
Treloar is a better player than Boyd as far as Im concerned. Fits into Hardwicks contested possession mantra.
This kid is a franchise player to build a midfield around, no two ways about it.
The club should push its offer right to the limits with this kid. May even need to give up good young player ie Ellis/Vlaustin to get him. Got to give up quality to receive quality.

Makes it difficult for others to break that record.

'Yes I have a contract but I'm unhappy and want to go elsewhere. What are you going to do? Force me to stay against my will?'

The game has change with the Griffen, Beams and Boyd trades. Players hold the whip.

Good luck AFL list managers everywhere....

And they were all a massive success. Buyers beware
