Footy Show

Revamping the format consisted of replacing Trev with Crawford performing stupid stunts to get into the Guinness Book of World Records each week. Absolute rubbish.

Was bloody funny last night I thought. Wackedy whack whack whack.

YES!

Crutchy spoke to Brown and will look for a finals team next season if Hardwick kicks him out.

TRADE !!! (hopefully 2nd round pick)
hopefully he kicks 5 tonight and mcmahon gets 30 touches.
we need as many picks as we can get in this draft.
even if they are third round picks.

It's a footy/comedy show she is on, not Miss Universe, and although it shouldn't be an issue for a female journalist, she is pleasant enough on the eye anyway. Very harsh and not necessary.

i`ve always thought sam lane wasn`t a bad sort.

the only drawback is she`s a carlton supporter.

I see Lyon's taken over as coach of Victoria Country Under-16 AFL Academy replacing Buckley. Was that mentioned?

Reckon Lyon sees the writing on the wall re the Footy Show and given the flood of draft picks that Bailey has picked up over Melbourne's past couple of years of pain, it's pretty obvious he's going to make a play at the Dees job at the end of next season, hoping their talented youngsters will make him look good.

Whether he gets the gig or not will be another matter.

Yeah, he's pretty blatant.

Two things have stopped guys like Lyon from coaching. Firstly, they don't quite have the conviction to put themselves on the line and secondly, they can earn three/four times as much in the media as they can as Assistant coaches.

Why would you go from a $500K+ contract in your last year as a player to less than half that to be an asistant when you can probably increase it again by going into the media? It makes no business sense.

The AFL has created this little Mickey Mouse coaching pathway for Voss and Buckley, to get them back in quickly as a senior coach. Lyon, ever the opportunist, can now see a way to coach without having to take a pay cut for a couple of years or longer if you have to prove yourself. What if you end up as an assistant at a club that struggles? That Bailey is quietly accumulating early picks by the bucketload is a bonus for him.

I hope Bailey doesn't think that he is going through all this pain because it will pay off big time in the future. It probably will, but not for Bailey.

Yeah Lyon will be rubbing his hands together knowing Bailey is doing all the hard yards and he'll walk in and take the credit.

It is being suggested around the traps that Melbourne have already offered Bailey and extension on his contract, believed to be a one year offer. So if true will still have 2 years to go.

Demons are going to offer Bailey anohter year, not sure why.

Because that will tie in nicely for when Lyon is ready.

They would be utterly derelict in their duty if they are shuffling things around to get Lyon in as coach.

For a show that claims to cover all the football stories to gloss over a coaching appointment like they did is pathetic and reeks of mateship and looking after Brayshaw and shows how insecure he really is. I would think that Hardwick would have been professional enough to have gone on there and talked about his appointment to Richmond and where they are hoping to head not take pot shots at Brayshaw and his pathetic money sucking joke of a club.

Regardless of the club the appointment of a coach should be given more respect than what the show showed to Richmond and I hope in future when any show on that channel wants to talk to our coach or president or CEO or players they are told to go smile themselves.

Agree jimbo3.
Good chance that they'll still struggle again next year which means more draft picks.
Lyon will have a tree full of kids ready to bloom if he takes the reigns.

I dont even rekon hardwick would have been asked to go on the show . Brayshaw and lyon dead set muppets.

Not too fussed with what the footy show did or didn't mention re our Coaching appiontment. Everybody they would want to talk to was probably on a plane to Perth anyway.

You would have to be pretty hard up to rely on that show for footy news.

Though I must admit I did enjoy watching Crawford get pummelled.

I just love how Crutchy seems to get more desperate by the week. Just cant get a real story anymore.

Nauseating just thinking about it, still, I've always believed if you take the soft approach Lyon has towards coaching, it won't amount to much when he steps in. Modern day coaches need to be up with a lot of things he is going to be incredibly stagnant in.

Astute as ever OldOne. There are some players at Demonland not thrilled with Bailey too. Lots of shouting but no real knowledge apparently - source is a player

Gary Lyon he's Melbourne equivalent clone (clown) of Terry Wallace.

Beginning to think Brayshaw is losing it.

First there was the fact a Richmond coaching appointment was basically brushed over on the show (that cannot be just a coincidence, even if he didn't go on there would normally be some chatter).

Yesterday though, I read this in the HUN http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sport/afl/story/0,26576,25996470-19768,00.html

My two favorite bits were this:

1) They announced Brad Scott's appointment before the deal was actually done. Even in my schmucky job the norm is until the contract is signed no deal is done (been there before - verbal agreement but failure to commit to contract).

2) The final bit - I won't comment because his words sum this up better than I can:

Someone said to me about the president 'if you blokes did all that work for a hospital, you would be put up for a Queen's Birthday honour . . . instead of that, you have a target on your head'.
