I just want to let everyone who has been concerned know that we're ok here. I can't contact everyone who's contacted me, concerned about our welfare, individually at the moment but will when I can. We haven't had power and of course have been busy preparing for the worst.

Things have been scary as here but we're not at any real threat at the moment now the wind has changed and it's cooled down. So confronting to question whether to stay and fight, what to take with you if you go etc. Simply horrible to think of the poor people who didn't have a chance to think or act.

A lot of friends have been burnt out competely. More worrying is friends in areas the fire has devastated who nobody has heard from or knows if they're ok or not.

So many tragic personal stories too sad to talk about at this stage. So much suffeing for pets, livestock and wildlife. Shattering.

Please everyone who can volunteer time to help those in need, offer a spare room, give blankets and clothes, donate money.

Thanks for the e-mails and concern. I'll reply to each of you as soon as I can.

Take care everyone and look after each other.

Absolutely heartbreaking. :'(

Rosy, our prayers and thoughts are with you and everyone else affected. I have clothes and toys to donate, do you know where Ican send them to? My two girls(7&8) feel so bad for all the kids affected, that they have gone to school today to start a Toy Drive.

Stay safe Rosy. I am praying for you and everyone else that has lost family and friends and those still in danger.

To those firefighters and their families that give the ultimate gift of service to those in need we hail you as true heroes and pray for you safety and success. May God bless your safe return to your loved ones.

I have friends around the Dederang, Yackandandah and Beechworth areas. My thoughts are with them and all those affected. Terrible weekend for Victoria. Hope the weather turn cool and wet.

I think this piece in The Australian vividly captures the horror that many Victorians have experienced over the last couple of days.

I can't even begin to imagine.

Fantastic piece describes the undescribeable imo.

Sheesh to think how one would stand up in such a horrifying event.

I'd like to encourage people to donate anything they can to help these people out. Many people have lost absolutely everything they have, some their loved ones included. Imagine every special possession, photograph, heirloom, pet etc. being completely destroyed. Many of the stories are tragic and I really do not know how some people will cope. Where do they start? We really need to get behind them and show them that we feel their grief and want to help in any way we can.

Sorry to hear that you have been affected by these fires. On the news they sound very frightening and devastating. That story Panther posted gives a very vivid picture.

Hope all turns out well. My thoughts and prayers are with you and anyone else who might be affected.

Thanks for the article PTFC. A very moving piece indeed.

My heart goes out to all affected. Just tragic, awful stuff.

And I'm glad you and your mob are safe, Rosy.

A very sombre day for all.

Some very sad stories.

Our thoughts go out to all affected.

Ditto Hippity i concur wholeheartedly

It times like this that make you value what you have. The death toll is horrifying but I was thinking that there is so much rippling out from that. So many people affected and grieving...in a way the whole state and country. The loss of people's homes, businesses, pets, stock - the scale of this weekend disaster is massive. None of us remain unaffected. I'm now thinking carefully about what I can do to help.

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any rain in the next few days
