He’s the puppet master. The coaches keep falling and the Dodo is still there amongst the chaos.
Since they sacked Knight‘s in either 2010 or 2011, it’s been an absolute disgrace how they have treated their coaches - I would add Hird and Sheedy into the toxic bowl of destroyers eating themselves from the inside.
I guess the positive for 18 year old Essendon fans who are yet to see a finals win they can legally hit the bottle.
7 coaches since Knights
Only had 27 coaches in there history till they got rid of Sheedy.
That’s why sheedy needs a bigger input into the club and hirdy needs to come back
an interesting read is the Bombers season
9 wins looks good , new coach , far from the perfect list
from July 15 onwards , oh dear , what a train wreck
6 games
narrow wins against Eagles 1pt and Norf 9 pts
pants down thrashings against Gee , WB & GWS
and a 2 pt loss against Swans
you could call it one respectable game out of 6
it doesn't seem to be driven by injuries
did opposition clubs work them out or has Scott lost the players or did they just get lucky with the draw ( Hawks & Suns rounds 1 & 2 got them off to a flyer but the internal excitement faded and a moderate list was exposed ) ???
they seem to have a lot of young players on their list who haven't debuted ? around 13 and their VFL has finished 17th winning 5 games for the year
the last game was a win V Coburg (winless ) , they may have a couple of developing gems but you wouldn't think that's a side bursting with AFL destined talent
on paper they don't look like they are going to charge into 2024 as a serious finals contender
what they do with regards trading and the national draft will be interesting , do they top up or clear the decks and go all in with the draft ?
