tania can i ask.why is your pussy named buckley?  ???

I knew this question would be asked sooner or later!!!!!  My husband is a made Collingwood supporter and member and the only way I could get a cat was if he was black and white and he could be called Buckley!!!!!  Unfortunately I have no choice but don't worry we are going to get a dog and she is going to be a Tiger!!!!

Your husband is a "made Collingwood supporter"??? Are the pies linked to the Mafia? ... might explain a few things!

TT has your husband been to gaol?

Tania you have a great Tiger bloodline, make sure all children get a Richmond upbringing before your 'other half' can brainwash them. May be future greats like your Grandfather. Great to have you here - stick around please.

TT, excellent. My situation is similar to yours. The girls in my households are Lions and the Boys are Tigers.
This includes the pets, as yet we're not too sure about the Goldfish

Nice to see Shandy get a mention!

Yes Tania I have heard about your grandad often! Some of the old timers I've spoken to in the past (including my Dad) spoke about him very highly. He was apprently a highly skilled and elusive player, very fair and importantly very good! In those days you had to be to get in the Richmond team of course. he played in a famous centreline. Judkins, Zschech, Geddes were the Bourke Barrot and Clay of their time and in fact played as a line far longer than those boys.

Your pride is well justified.

Can I suggest you go down to the Richmond museum and talk to Ron Reiffel about him? I haven't been there for a while but I'm sure there are lots of things relating to your grandad (and definitely to his era) and I'm equally sure Ron can give you lots of stories about those days.

Thanks for the kind words you say about my Grandfather.  I think I will go down to the museum and see what I can find.  My Grandfathers brother keeped a scrap book of him and Mum has it now - it is amazing some of the things that we have.  Mum has the invitiation to the 1934 best and fairest night.  The meal is a crack up - they had pea & Ham soup for entree, roast of the day for main and Hot Apple Pie for desert.  The best thing is that my Grandfather got every player who played in that winning GF to sign the back of the invite - I think it would be worth a fortune these days!!!!

Oh wow!! You are very lucky to have such great memorabilia!! (And very unlucky to marry a Collingwont supporter.)

You've got it all wrong.

It should be all boys will follow Richmond and the girls Collingwood.

There might be a great-grandfather rule like the father-son rule in the future. :hihi

I made my wife switch from Collingwood to Richmond. Otherwise, I might not have married her.

You have done extremely well to convert your wife to the Tigers - there is absolutely no chance of me doing that to my husband!!!!
