Emma Quayle's 2012 Final Predictions

My favorite day of the year. Never will you see more premature dummy spits than on draft day.

I reckon you will find Jaksch or Grundy will be our man followed by mids for the next 3 picks. Jaksch is the real deal and has been a sleeper.

Hard to know - what if Wines falls because Port want to draft a local boy like Mayes or Grundy and Brisbane take Menzel maybe - do we take Wines/Menzel if either are available?

Frank has a history of avoiding players who missed a chunk of junior footy due to injury or had injury question marks. Swift was one internet favourite, Darling had his head issues, and maybe Heppell and Kavanagh too. (I think there's a better example but I forget now.)

Miller/Frank also considered but passed on Muston and Varcoe.

Adam Treloar of GWS reckons his new teammates will be Whitfield, Toumpas and then Wines at three. Just a prediction but a different one at that.

Apparently Vlastuin hasn't been invited to the draft!!

... what the hell is going on

Sanity prevails, well played Tigers, no leaks either.

EQ reckons Vlas is heading up the GC this morning. Still reckons we'll take him.

Yeah, just checked it myself. Oh well, Vlastuin it is.

I know we'll get a solid player but I just think we've played it too safe.

With guys like Tuck and Jackson still on our list, I am at least happy that we're looking at a strong bodied inside mid. Hopefully Vlas becomes a replacement for these guys.

Not to mention Foley who has question marks over whether he can get his body right.

Yeah, he's 100% an upgrade on Jackson so that can't be a bad thing. I'm just very concerned that we have a gaping hole in the ruck division, and I'm livid Collingwood may get the cream of the draft from such a lowly position.

True.

Personally I don't have an issue with solid citizens. We haven't had anywhere near enough of them over the years.
If Vlas is a regular contributor and carves out a strong career then history would show that to be a good selection at pick 9.
