It's not acceptable anywhere, rosy. Gutless bullying; pack mentality. McGuire has a lot of power and plenty of pilot fish don't want to lose his slipstream. Danny Frawley ought to be ashamed of himself. He's a simpleton and easily led, but he has four daughters. Pathetic, Spud.

I'm no Mark Robinson fan, but he has said all the right things about this. Called it for what it was: bullying. Called the AFL out for its weak response. Called out the pack mentality and how they're all scared of McGuire.

A boys' club of moron Neanderthals.

I agree spook. Life's too short. Just intetested in ToO's take based on his comments. I find it really sad if anyone feels a need to hate, belittle, bully or inimidate others. It speaks more about them petsonally than their victims imo.

I'd question someone having the need to publicly and openly express hatred of another person. Better to ignore them and keep such valuable info to yourself. It may not be mysoginistic but it is a form of bullying. Exactly the kind of thing schools are trying to eradicate with kids.

Her writing is fair game, though. If McGuire's got something specific regarding her journalistic integrity (more specific than "She's like the black widow. She just sucks you in and gets you and you start talking to her and then BANG! She gets you"), let's hear it.

Collingwood have issued a statement and if anything its worse than the AFL press conference, remarkably doesn't mention McGuire at all. This from a club with 2 female board members and a founding club of the womens professional league:

No not missing the point. In fact, we are in furious agreement (our points are slightly different).

I was stating that Triple M's defence simply seems to be that it was all ok because someone else (3AW) did it as well.

I misunderstood, sorry about that, agree

Agree. Rosy and spook. Didn't know robbo had done that, impressive. Especially after Caro going hard at his beloved Dons

On spud, he is a walking, talking example of the boys club at work. MMM and Fox gig, as well as speaking, endorsements, what would he be on? $ a million a year? Whatever it is it's too much, he ain't funny, charming, insightful or charismatic. Even if you do think he is mildy funny or entertaining, no one would disagree with the fact his talent is grossly out of whack with his income and standing, why? Um 'cause he's mates with the right people in the boys club maybe?

Yeah, Thing is Taz, he keeps saying, as he did today, words to the effect of 'I said stuff that isn't me/ goes against what I'm about' etc. Doesn't really wash with me. Maybe once, twice even, but it just keeps happeneing. I've always been a fan of Robbie Burns, the Scottish poet's words: 'the truest things are said in jest'.

The media has closed ranks around McLachlan by praising his weakness as "strong leadership".

Don't ever try to tell me what to think you polo-playing *smile*.

On their website the AFL have a number of resources that specifically speak to the way that the AFL wants to deal with gender equity and violence against women.

It was produced back in the previous administration's days but it is pretty good.

Gill should take a look at it. And so should Eddie, James and Danny.

Yeah I'm at that point as well, he's sexist and probably racist as well. Next thing you know he'll be making a homophobic remark.

How different was the TripleM banter with her 3AW banter? Incidents like this just continue to happen and will never finish.

The 3aw banter was made by her colleagues.

The MMM banter was made by people she doesn't like (and clearly vice versa)

Wouldn't say mild, but yeah in isolation from his form I take your point.

For me though the way it occurred in a pack mentality with Brayshaw and Frawley was what was really ugly. Nasty.

Yep...to me that was the worst part of it. "cmon you are one of the boys you got to follow Ed and join in" Fine line between solidarity and gang mind set.

True to form, really.

McGuire: Get Adam Goodes down for it do you reckon?
Darcy: No I wouldn't have thought so, absolutely not.
McGuire: You can see them doing that can't you?

Yeah Eddie McGuane and James Bradshaw are quite smug aren't they? Sorry if you took it the wrong way...lol. it's your fault.

Brayshaw would be back on 5AA if it wasn't for Eddie. Got home the footy show gig and the NM Chair. Isn't going to cross him.

I've got a mate who tends to operate like that. If you aren't with me you are against me. Has to be told, no it's not personal.
