Early Openers- Prelim Finals

Is there any other elite sporting competition in the world that gets adjudicated depending on the circumstances of the match - i.e. late and close = whistle put away?

I couldn't name you any other.
Nope.

Does the ref in the netball change the way they officiate because Cranbourne North fans are louder than Balwyn?

I thought the boundary umpiring tonight was strangely indecisive.

Maybe 4-5 really late calls after the players almost stopped?

It's now time for the Lions to wake the *smile* up and win. This is their best team in years and with the Fitzroy crowd behind them next week, they have to win.
It looks theirs for the taking at this stage.

I hate Carlton more than Collingwood. I think the Lions can beat Scumwood; they are not that good. You could make a fair argument that neither Carlton or Collingwood should have won any of their finals thus far. Their opponents in both games have butchered so many opportunities. Neither team has been convincing. Unlike us in 2017 and 2019 where we were dominant.

I could care less about Fly and Leppa. They are with one of our mortal enemies. I wish them zero success.

Smug Lions players just need to do the job now, no more high fives after goals and all the other *smile* they go on with, just get rid of Carlton then the Scum. Nearly forgot those *smile* *smile* songs too.

Very annoying post match interviews instead of the drama of the players post game. Surely there is lots of time to interview players later on.

Agree with Eddie on this one.

Yeah it was odd. There were a couple where nobody was really sure what was going on, players stopped and started, umps looking at each other.

This years flag was really up for grabs. we went all in and it didn’t work but it was there for the taking.

Tom Browne saying Daicos has no case to answer for dangerous tackle on Daniels.

Pendlebury tackles him by the neck, holds his arm. Daicos lands squarely in his back ramming his head into the ground.

PLAY ON!

Yeah mate, GWS nearly Bradbury'ed it.

No Lynch killed us. And then Hooch checked out. It was the right call to go all in.

During the Port game I was saying Keefe and RiccardI were the Giants weak links. Both proved it tonight. They aren’t expected to be stars but they stuffed everything they touched.

I also noticed only 59 gws interchangers for a match. That's low for any team but one that's played 2 x 6 day breaks...

Reckon briggs was carrying something from last week. Wasn't his usual self.
Shoulder I think? Could be wrong.

He had not much help.

Easy to say but I reckon you swing Himmelberg forward, Keefe off.

Anyone know if Ward was / got injured?

A player like Ward would have been valuable that last 10-15 mins?

Don’t think Pies blew too many chances but a giants certainly did. their stars had rar less time than first two finals and hacked many kicks Under pressure.
