I think Scott knows, he must do something with the "so called top end talent they have" a short term quick fix. But it may backfire.
IMO it's already too late, they don't have enough coming through & too many older guys over 30 (plus Higgins coming in by the sounds of it)

They are just about done as contenders.

Cameron can go to Geelong but he will end up being serviced by a midfield that is becoming inferior to the one he wants to leave, as Ablett retires, Selwood older and slower and Diverfield playing forward.

Cameron and Hawkins are going to be taking alot of each others space unless they plan to role Tommy through the ruck at stages as he is actually not bad at it.

Dalhaus and Steven are not the answer for the Cats
Nor is Gary Rohan.

Not sure about the rest of you Tigers, however I sure know something I think it is soooooooooo blooooody goood been in the middle of a true Dynasty , I think will end up with more flags then the album had hits
KISS reference there CC?

In Dimma's presser he responded to a journo's question:

Q) Journo: If you look at your list how long do you think you can contend for?

A) Dimma: Look i think we have some wonderful players. Some of the youth we've got coming through we are incredibly excited about and we just need to hang on to these guys and get them playing. "Look there's a guy, (look I don't want to individualize").

So the key is not losing these young talented players because of their impatience to play, and I really really want to know who the young player is that Dimma was about to individualize but didn't :)
Yes I picked up on that as well That is a huge wrap But who was he talking about

He was talking as much to the audience as he was the team.

We now have 4 or 5 young kids who reckon Dinna was talking about them and it's given them that extra spark.

Although not many fell off the map, there is an absence of premierships after Year 1, and grand finals after Year 3. Difficult to compare teams from a hundred years ago with today's professional game including draft/calary cap which serves to both drag the top teams down over time, yet slow the rise of challengers. However the same challenge of replenishment applies.

Not sure whether it's enough to trust our systems to prevail or we need a shift in direction. W/L will tell the story as always.

It's going to be interesting couple of years .. after a period of great success there tends to come a time for a rebuild .. we don't want to end up like Hawthorn now or Geelong ( in a year or so time) topping up too much to try to keep there era going .. How we do depends on how many retirees we have each year esp in 2021/22/23 and how we have recruited and developed backups ( 2021 trade period and Draft could be very important for us ) ..worse outcome is If we have like only have one retiree in 2021 like houli for example and have up to 10 in 2022.. Edwards , Cotch , JR , Caddy , DA, Prestia, Lambert , Pickett , Grimes , Cotch for example ..Then it will be a challenge to replace those quality players so quickly and we might also lose a couple of replacement players in 2021 looking for more game time ( like we have in 2020 with Markov and Higgins )

We aren't like Hawthorn, constantly recruiting players try to keep it alive when its all over.
Geelong are so desperate for a flag i reckon i would barrack for Collingwood if they were playing them in a GF.
The current acts of desperation is like watching a bloke throw more money at a pokie machine to try win the jackpot. Its almost impossible..
People forget besides a 4-5 game period this season, there performances were at best were Sub standard.
Geelong love the easy kill, The Stkilda game, the port game, the Brisbane game.
But when they're challenged, They capitulated. Ive seen GC put up more of a fight.Theyre mentally traumatized against us, going back over 50 year's.
We have Balta , Baker, Short, Graham, Nakas, Ross, Cj, Dow, Martyn all still coming through.
We wont hit a brick wall with our list.

Has to be the other Martin.

To me the key to us hanging around and contending over the next few years is to get some more KPP talent in, whether that be via the draft and developing or free agency/trade.
We have Jack 31 and Dave and Grimes late 20s. Even Lynch is 28.

We are well positioned with young players coming through but will continue to lose a couple here and there as they chase more opportunities.

It is a big challenge to keep this sort of run going but I think we are better placed than most clubs to do this.

There will be an inevitable fall, how far and for how long is the question.

We will enjoy this while it lasts though. :cupgold:cupgold:cupgold

I reckon it is RCD. I have heard a number of Richmond people talk glowingly about him over the last month or two.

I can't remember which one it was ( Clarke or Hartley) but he said RCD was definitely going to play a couple of times this year but just got niggles at the wrong time.

That's pure speculation of course.

Could be any number of kids.
There are a number of our youngsters ( with VFL resuming next year ) pushing for games next year.

You only had to look at the emergencies that were on a weekly basis to see that.

Yeah RCD got injured at the wrong time.

Really exciting times in 21.
