Dustin Martin

One thing that surprised me was the awarding of the 1975 medal to Peter Knights. I cannot imagine a player from a side beaten by nearly 10 goals winning a Norm Smith.

Agree. I have never seen the game, but it looks like some sort of anomaly.

His stats for the day playing CHB

Kicks: 18
H/Balls: 0
Marks: 5
Goals: 0
Behinds: 0
FF: 0
FA: 1

He was at least for part of the day opposed to a 20 year old Arnold Briedis, who kicked 5.1

Our goat is 33
There is no godfather offer coming from the suns.
He is a Tiger for life.
Reckon he would be anyway if an offer did come as a matter of fact.

I love Dusty and have always believed that he will finish his career at the Tigers and be a one club player, but while listening to a totally unrelated podcast I got fairly p!ssed off.
The whole 'Dusty elsewhere' thing is so tiresome. There are many pundits that are soo jealous of his numerous, miraculous achievements in a Tiger jumper & that is why they plant that seed.

At some stage all things come to an end & Dusty's time at Tigerland is closing too..So what.
As they say, “Don't cry Because it's over, be happy because it happened”.

i chatted with Jake King who dropped into my work yesterday, he was looking in shape and had dropped alot of weight since the last time i seen him,
i asked about Dusty and how he was travelling, he was very confident it will be a big year for Dusty :)

I once said that about KB when he was 32

[Rule] then talks about Dusty’s dad (by way of example). In setting up his point he tells listeners about what a star of the game Dusty is and that there is a concerted effort to get him to a Queensland club.
He'd usually be pretty right, Qd. He has very good sources and if not he has very good sources who have sources.

His assertion lines up perfectly with the abundance of evidence. That there is a concerted effort to get Dustin Martin to another club. These days GCS.

The AFilthL and its gravy train cronies have been trolling Dustin Martin for seven or more years now.

Agree Jack, and if GCS want to have a crack at getting Dusty I say if you're good enough go for it.

The bit that p!sses me off is the AFL in the background, pulling strings so as to give GCS another leg up. And on top of that it's obviously common knowledge within the so called journalists

The general public would have a better idea of how Dusty is going than Jake King lol

Damb, never thought about or realised Mike Sheahan being cousin's with the Test cricketer Paul Sheahan 🤦‍♂️

And he's got a far better Aussie Rules resume than I'll ever have and an entry on "AustralianFootball.com" website

"Sheahan is the cousin of former Test cricketer Paul Sheahan. He had a brief football career himself, playing 63 senior matches for the Werribee Football Club in the Victorian Football Association and for North Hobart Football Club in the Tasmanian Football League."

All in the family but Paul Sheahan was himself a magnificent footballer.
Saw him a few times and playing across half forward he was Royce like against VFL quality opposition.
Could have been anything!

I have gone for both possibilities over the last 6 months but now firmly fixed in the Dusty must stay camp.
He is the best player to play for us over the last 65 yrs (of my) following footy, and while the one club Monika won’t add to his reputation, leaving will harm it.
More than that, he has had such a long and successful career because of his professionalism. You can’t buy that but we can re invest in it by allowing him to continue to set an example to team mates over at least the next 3 years.

He is evidently going to play more midfield this year and he certainly looks to be highly motivated again. Our team may seem to be in a bit of trouble with retirements and injury hangovers, not unlike our situation in 2016. But don’t forget his 2017.

Dusty's preparation for next season gives us a whole new potential so sign him now!

I’ve always wanted him to stay but am now in the camp that I fully expect him to stay.
I can’t remember who it was but one of our young recruits was asked about settling in and mentioned about the thrill of playing and training with Dusty and how incredibly professional he was on the track. We can’t measure what that means to the club moving forward except to say Dusty just being there will help us in the future.

I’ve always thought Dusty hates being pressured into anything, and the more the media push the send him to GCS barrow, the more likely he is to stay at Tigerland. Providing, of course, that we look after him financially.

Sheahan already has close ties to the Cats, who tried to recruit him when he was a star footballer and cricketer at Geelong College.

Trouble is that with the AFL's support, GCS can make a very large offer. We'll offer good $$$ but not crazy money.

Dusty knocked back North‘s crazy money last time
Reckon our good money will suit him nicely once again

In Jack's book, he says that he started to work out the difference in off field earnings for Dusty to stay as a Tiger or become a Kangaroo.
He said that it wasn't even close, it was a chasm.

How do you think Dusty 300 GCS signed memorabilia would sell compared to Richmond 300 game memorabilia.
