Dustin Martin

Just shows that the AFL see themselves as truely entertainment industry people, rather than game first, entertainment next
AFL is now just a corporation that is interested in making as much money as it can.
Has no interest in looking after supporters . Money first, supporters second.

The most obvious is the sight and noise pollution of the advertising at the grounds.
How the supporters are expected to enjoy the experience of going to a game when you are continually assaulted by advertising promotions is beyond understanding.
You cant talk to your mates about the game above the noise and the flashing brightly coloured hoardings means it hard to actually see the play.
All for money.

Whats the AFL going to do when Dusty refuses? Suspend him?
He won’t refuse - assuming it’s compulsory (to talk to the media)

But he’s a very smart bloke and will be well able to answer anything put to him.
But they’ll be eloquent but only bland dead bat style answers that consist of sufficient words (just in case there’s a minimum number required!) but say bugger all. And good on him.

Supporters don't rate that high.
Corporates, Sponsors, Media well ahead of supporters as an AFL priority.

Congratulations Dusty on an amazing year which the media failed to acknowledge or talk about.

I’m expecting some year in 24.

He has already started his pre season.

Watch out the competition.

I think amazing is pushing it. Not much match-winning format all. Lots of near misses. Really hope you're right about 2024. Recent preseason calls of Dusty burning up the track haven't really come to much. This year was a big step towards the real Dusty. Here's hoping!

Achilles yeah I agree with “lots of near misses’.

I thought his second hss as of of the year was better than Taranto, but what didn’t help was those misses.

Don’t know how many behinds he scored this year, but that was the only thing.

Started slowish.

We can only hope he starts from Round 1 determined to help the club transition and inspire the youngsters coming through.

Let’s see. Agree.

Yep, you're spot on Waiting.
It needs to be a year where we get the most from the Senior players. It is astounding how their confidence can pass through the club.
With the champs gone, we need a few extroverts to project a bit of Dermie-like arrogance and self confidence. Bakes has a bit of it, Tommy and Vlaussy have some but we need some of the new breed to step up and own the place.

It starts with how they come back from their ‘compulsory AFLPA break.

And Yze being there from the start of training for the 1-4 years.

I will then be interested in Caesar’s reports and I too will be making my way and watching from afar and seeing the signs that seemed to be missing from the start of 23.

Bit of ‘luck ‘ with the Gods of Injury ‘ would be welcomed!

Yeah, the speaking stuff not for our Dust Buster.

I think he "talks" to The Sherrin and furthermore, allows The Sherrin to do his "talking".
Having been bestest buddies with The Chimpah there would have been countless opportunities to undertake media training in house under said Cotchin-ator.
Obviously not his go.

I don't think it's something that Aston can change now, or wants.

Only way it would work is Aston on field Captain, no media.

Optimus back to Vice.
Balls Baker into Vice.
Quentin Tarantino into Vice.
Shorty into Vice.

Vice guys do all off field stuff/media stuff.

Nankenstein back to Vice, ONLY available for Bristle interviews.
(if Brizer can face his fear!)

Craig Cameron via the AFL website:

As for how close the Suns really were to luring Dustin Martin from Richmond, Cameron said: "I don't think it was very close this year, to be honest.

"Will we have another crack next year? I think we'll wait and see."

Sam Maclure is getting excited.

This is why I dislike the media so much and rarely take notice what they say about my club, but this did really ‘get under my skin’.

I had to find it and I did.

Terrible journalism.

Blessed. Thank you Melb.

Dusty’s first goal, 2nd game, season 2010.

The man behind the legend.

Sam Manure. Wrong every year. Next he'll start saying Martin will retire next year. And he'll finally be right one year. What a moron.
