Dustin Martin

He is building.

Finding the footy is a start.

Just hasn't quite regained his touch. Might not comeback.

But clearly enjoying his footy again (celebrated Tarantos goal more than anyone), and going to have some monster games in the second half of the season I reckon
YES! YES! he is more into the action now, possession has been high. His delivery is rising, getting his teammates into the play, gets the hard ball. If that kick was a goal!
I said this a month ago, he is building.

Can someone please tell Dusty to pick the ball up?
He’s no Maradona
It had to be an instruction. And it failed horribly in the third quarter
Reckon you’re both right there
The players might have been told not to attempt to pick up the ball in the slippery conditions and to just soccer the bloody thing forwards

But Dusty (and maybe Bakes too) could have been given the special licence to decide for themselves. If they felt they could pick it up - then they should have been able to do that and then try a long kick

The fact he's supposedly so invested makes anything possible this year. He knows it's the last time he will play with Cotch and Jack. Anything is possible over the back end of the season.

I agree. They were all trying to kick off the ground in the 3rd, must have been by instruction. But Dusty seemed to take it to the next level. On average kicking off the ground doesn't work, we did it way to much in the 3rd which is the only quarter I felt Saints beat us.

He’s building it seems, but I had him behind at least 4 Tigers in our best. The media hype around his rebirth is over the top.

No doubt a Mini directive.
Jackmond was doing it also.
Aston also had a lot of fresh airies.
He was giving wind burn to any player in his vicinity with the ferocity of his swinging leg!
Was worried he was going to ping a calf.
Found it reasonably humorous watching the replay back.
If his footy boot had come off it would have knocked someone out!
Love your work Dust!

If there was a physical ailment impeding his kicking

It’s gone now

I think what we have to remember with Dustin and it’s easy to forget . Some of his mid season form over the years hasn’t always been at the same quality of his best work . I reckon mr September is going really well for June .

Cornes spotted some footage of him sprinting with a minute left when we are 14 minutes up after a (dodgy) free against back into defensive position. Massively invested.

And talking to the media after the game!

We can't have much go wrong to get back into this season, but we also don't need much to go right from where we are performing at the moment to be pretty hard to beat. Dusty finishing some of those 15-20% chances will be one of them.

…..
The word is Dusty’s developed a real taste for talking to the media - and has apparently already slotted in his next 3 after the game interviews
His own 300th
Jack’s 400th
Cotchy’s 500th

Lol pleased that McLure has been called out but outright happy that Buckley is hilariously shown for what he is, a sham. He's a figjam. All his new age mindfulness "conversion" earthy borrowed claptrap (real mindfulness is genuine, open and from the heart not the manufactured waffle Buckley sprouts) doesn't add up now because it never added up.

As soon as Fly went in there showing genuine consideration, respect, courtesy, direction and created an environment for actual connection, they have thrived.

How that must stick in FigJams craw.
