As far as I can tell, this isn't a new situation but one that has reappeared after being dealt ages ago.

What often happens is someone will contact a high profile person and offer to sell them the video because if you sell them the video it's not blackmail. If they don't want to buy it the next stop is selling to the the media.

Just my speculation but I imagine what went on here was a deal was struck but the person either didn't have control of the original or had shared it with someone else. So now years down the track someone else comes out with the same deal, they are told to get lost because you are not going to be continually tapped for the same scam, and the media also don't want to buy it.

Left with a worthless video the person decides they may as well get a kick out of blowing it up on social media, and here we are.

I hate strip clubs. The whole idea of them is gross.

I really don't like that a professional footy club would have an end of year function at one. That seems like a relic of a worse age. Given the videos vintage and the Broad issue, I imagine that sort of thing is discouraged now.

They are places that breed disrespectful behaviour, and we are at a time when footy clubs are attempting to change their boys club fabric. I'm not surprised players act like Dusty did in the video.

But that is not an excuse for sexual misconduct. I don't think the behaviour should be minimised. Unless there was explicit consent, in which case, there is no issue. I don't know the context, but it seems unlikely there was consent for the sexual touching. And that's awful. Not good enough. The behaviour needs to be called out and condemned. It can't just be reduced to 'Gutter journalism'. But what's the consequence for the person? How do things improve?

The reporting of this is unhelpful for everyone involved. Plastering it over the front page of a newspaper adds to the harm. Reactionary commentary ends up with too-easy solutions as punters or the media say 'Ban and fine'. The outrage machine kicks off and people want punishment. But what does that do? And why now? We can address the behaviour without tearing apart a person. What was the context at the time? Has it been addressed? What can be done to reduce any harm and prevent it in the future?

Answering and acting on those questions is how things improve.

FWIW, I had the same perspective on the De Goey footage. Though him coming out and blaming ADHD was exactly the way things don't improve as well.

We need to cut Mince some slack on his assumption it was a function with friends. He doesn’t have any friends, so wouldn’t know how a night out with some is arranged.

Poor Wussy Whateley. Sooks when things don't go his way. After (wasting my time) listening to Laurel and Hardy on the previous show ridden with ad breaks, I was expecting Wussy to not bring this Dusty rubbish up and just get on with finals talk.....nup.

Whereas Dees players indulge in aggressive and nasty sledging in a classy French restaurant that escalates into full-scale fisticuffs with numerous players involved and injuries sustained. No fine ... nothing to see here for the Melbourne Club, eh Gil.

Who the * does McLachlan think he is god? Contact the woman who said the woman wants to be contacted. Where do these people get off, live in glass houses. He will go down as the worst CEO of the AFL. His middle name should be WOKE

Not great timing, but I'm confident the club have and are doing what they need to do to ensure it doesn't distract us leading up to the Elim.

It won't happen, but wouldn't be great if after scoring his 6th goal, Martin grabs his own tits double handed in celebration.
