Dustin Martin

Dusty's incredible recent form makes it easy to forget that he was dealing with pre season Chopstick-gate & personal circumstances with his Dad.
Full credit to him with the way he's gone about it. Genuine signs of a maturing footballer who's only getting better & better.

An interesting article from Wayne Carey on Martin (in tonight's online version of The Age), which I have posted on the Journos board.

He's glamorous when in form that's for sure. But until he can impose himself on the top teams on a regular basis and in big games...... it's all just showbiz.

Wouldn't mind knowing if G.Ablett's chest thinks it's 'just showbiz'.

Love Dusty. My daughter has a dusty soft doll which she sleeps with. He is the messiah on our house. :hihi

When oh when is the club gonna gonna put out those tshirts with the giant handprint that say "don't argue". No brainer.

I think Dustin Martin is the best kick in the AFL. Twice a week. He can be lethal.

His goal kicking is haphazard. And his field kicking is too. Too often. If Dustin Martin kicked at his best even most of the time he would already be a champion.

I believe that his kicking goes off due to fatigue. I think he's still developing his tank and that he pretty much can't lift his leg after his wrestle runs. But as he improves that tank he'll get more consistent by foot.

During that North Melbourne debacle Dustin Martin was Em. Eye. Ay. We don't have any other big strong midfielders so a big responsibility fell to him. Sure he was targeted but nada. He gave us nada.

Dustin Martin is 25 years old. He's a full-grown man. We needed him. We got *smile*.

Against the lowly and physically small Gold Coast, Martin lifted. No doubt he got the mother of all rockets during the week. But he responded with a stunning BOG. It was weak company but you can't do much more than dominate.

There was a marked improvement in the consistency of his kicking. And that handball. Whoa. He was kicking at his best. And gave us a glimpse of Voss.

Did he improve because of the drop in class? Or is he about to level up? We'll find out next time we play a side in the four. And the time after that. And the time after that.

There was a bloke called Ablett running around. He goes alright. Some say he is the equivalent of a few players.

Found it intresting that Dusty is only about average when it comes to lifting weights, his footy strength has to be up there with the best

One of the strongest players I can remember ever seeing on the field.

Jack was saying on 360 that Martin is never in the weights room, he's just a naturally strong beast.

Doesn't surprise, his a bloody beast isn't he. Not sure where I heard it , might have been talking tigers or some old footage but was really surprised, I suppose it's a state of mind thing lifting weights

Dusty gave him a bit of a shove at one stage, SA. No respect! ;D
