The big problems is tigers need to know before the season ends so we can look at options for next year. Martin is going great guns but it still must be asked will he think team first and take a very good offer from us which still allows us to chase another A grader or is it all about the best deal for himself?
Yesterday's revelations about Tom Boyd & his issues, should be a reality check to any players being offered huge sums of money to play.
I'm not saying Dusty would suffer the same sort of problems if he was offered over $1m/$1.5m, but you never know. He is older than Boyd & seems to be able to handle things far better than when he was younger. But who can tell how he would handle the expectations that would surely follow from being so highly paid.

Fair point Saigon. But you can do this through contingency planning.. If he stays, do A. If he leaves, do B. In theory anyway.
Thing is he's so good you'd do everything possible to keep him, and hopefully never have to execute plan B

Dustin seems very family oriented, values the relationships he has and looks after those that look after him.
With his father now removed from the scene, the only family that seems to be around Dustin is the Richmond Football club.
As much as most would not like to hear it I think his future is also tied to Dimma as coach, he named him as his mentor when speaking to GWS way back when.
I'd be very surprised to see him opt out of the Tigers given the history and his relationships

Damien Barrett just said on TFS what I have said all along that it is Ralph Carr holding the club to ransom. He's making it a personal vendetta over the events of 2013. The only reason the last contract was signed without hassle was that it would take him to free agency and give Ralph the upper hand. He is a flog of the highest order.
See above. I have had dealings with RCM and can attest to what a leach this guy is. He's playing with Dustin's future for his own gain. And not just with this contract either. He keeps his snout in all of Dustin's dealings.craig said:
