The Cotchin article, the constant Instagram pictures of Dusty with Cotch’s kids, the little Insta story yesterday about how Dusty picks Coach up and gives him a left to the airport for all interstate travel and Brooke packs lunch for both of them it’s genuine. I’ve flipped three times this year but now I’m convinced he stays.

That also means they could easily remain friends after Dusty accepts an offer worth 1-2.5 million dollars to play elsewhere.

We've already significantly increased both $$$ and perceptions of future success, but he still hasn't signed. We can up the $$$ again, and we can up the perceptions of future success by making a Grand Final this year, otherwise it's pretty likely he's not staying given the current conditions.

Edit: Our best hope is that he's holding out for absolute maximum dollars from us. If so, make this the talking point in the media, we want other clubs to be more tentative in their offers so Carr doesn't take advantage of us being forced to match.

Yes, but how is that a positive? It serves as a reminder that Dusty's current Brownlow form is temporary.

Other clubs remember the GWS tour, they know how settled he is. It's in their interest to feign interest to break our cap.

Be strong, Richmond. Other clubs know Dusty is a huge risk for them on Buddy money. They'll hope we match because they won't both trade + pay ~1.5.

as you say, we MUST match the offer, unless its a buddy type deal of 8-9 years. but even then...
so we match it, and if he still wants to go and the other club still wants him, then cough up the 2 first rounders, a CHF, and then some......

No-one beats Martin but I reckon Rance would have made a super midfielder given game time. A quality key backman of Rance's ability is by far the most important position on the field these days in my book.
