How long ago was that Knighter? 12 or 13 years ago, something like that.
If you banned every player who ever had a misdemeanour, there would be a few missing.
I'm a bit surprised you don't believe in rehabilitation. Has he changed since then? Does he donate time to charity work?
Should he never be employed again?is it just Swan or everyone else as well?

Note: I'm not downplaying any injury that occurred, nor condoning violence.

Yeah I probably just don't like the bloke. If you're the type who would do that in the first place then you've got a big hill to climb to convince me you've changed. Rehabilitation may be possible but I'm not sure letting him off and paying him millions and blowing smoke up his arse (as the soft outside accumulator he was) likely led him to change his spots. I could be wrong.

Dusty making more defensive efforts the last couple weeks. Level up by adding defense. improving his all round game

The guy is a freak. He's untackleable. Even tough guy cunnington was too afraid to lay a tackle. Once in a lifetime player we have here. Taken his game to another level this year as his kicking has improved to near elite.

if club X is offering $$$$ and we match it why is that irresponsible? The other club is taking a game to get the hottest player into the club why would we not be doing the same to keep him at the club. So far so good, we are competitive, we could be 10 -1 alas we are 7-4!! He form is hot, the players, coaches and fans love him so an Exit you would think at this stage is purely based on $$$$???

He has Cotch, Alex and Jack in the sweet spots of their careers with the likes of Nank, Caddy, Prestia there too, and the emergence a talent like Bolton, Rioli, Castagna, Butler. Playing in front of regular 70/80K packed MCG crowds..why would you want to go to a club like Notrth that you can basically shake all their members hands after the game.

Just like he did with shopping Dusty at GWS a few seasons ago, lets hope this is Ralf Car being Ralf Carr, he knows his pay day is coming too owing the hottest player in the comp.. I would hope some time post our September action and free agency silly season they come out and say he was NEVER going to leave!

We will be successful this year - and will improve over the next 2-3 years as the Four Guns remain in their prime, with the likes of Edwards, Conca, Grigg, Bachar, Brando, Prestia, Grimes and Dave consolidating as very good footballers - and the rapid emergence of the likes of Shorty/Dan/George/Menadue/Bolton/Nank.

I have not enjoyed a half of footy as much as I did on Saturday night for a long time.

There was a play when Dusty, surrounded, hand balled along the ground Cotch for a 1-2. Dusty may not have goaled, but it was imperious

if we do have some fun in September you would think Dimma will be there for the next 2-3 years (as many others will not like). Have to cut him some slack, changed just about everything in 2017, flowing game plan, speed, new assistants, new footy director, admission he went off track in 2016 not helped with injuries to Houli, Mckintosh, Conca, Delidio and a uncommunicative desire for pressure acts/tacking. For 11 games (minus 3 quarters v Adelaide and a few against Freo) we have become the complete opposite team to what was on the park last year.

For Dusty I was a lets just wait and see what pans out. Im not playing that 2016 rubbish again.

I was unhappy loosing White to port 2-3 years ago. I'll be in mourning if we loose Dusty.

Yep freak is the best way to describe him. Incredible Hulk like. His kicking this week was sublime. Been the knock on him in the past.

Sign him for $1.2m (or whatever) for 3 years. Then at the end of 2020 when he'll be 29.5 going into season 2021 trade him to GWS a la the Lids deal.

Anyone notice that his clangers come when he tries to pick out short 20/30 meter targets, it's like the Bull is too powerful and almost impossible for him to pull/rein in his kick enough to hit the target & will either grubber or overshoot. Hard to explain I equate to a chip shot in golf, you realize halfway through the swing you are going to hit it too hard so pull your shot and don't follow through and stub it or you continue and fly the target. Thankfully Dusty is spotting 40 and 50 meter targets with regularity, the cross the body 50 meter spot up to Grigg on Sat was outrageous.

100%, most consistent at picking out a 50metre target. The short dinky ones he stuffs up but with his evasive skills and ability to shake a tackle there shouldn't be too many times he needs to kick short. Seems like that's what coaching has been trying to clean up because he's been hitting alot more longer targets lately.

It's funny seeing him get the ball in a contest and his opponents just stand there not knowing what to do.

Yeah. Scared he'll make them look silly if they try to tackle.

There's no way he'll sign a 3 year deal when clubs will be offering 5 or more years of guaranteed top dollar. Just won't happen

First player I've seen run towards a tackler looking for contact.

Yep he actually runs towards the player, which is smart as its easier to tackle someone facing the other way.

Exactly. I'm sure with Dusty its not all about the $'s / year but the overall package. He will want a 5-6 year deal. Reckon $1.1m for 6 years, might get it done. $6.6m all up.

Nah, before they changed the head high rule plenty of players were running into opponents headfirst to draw a free kick. But Dusty does do it for a different reason.
