Dustin Martin

If Martin is carrying a groin injury then it is likely he will lose some of his much-vaunted power given that he won't be to hold as much stability through his core. Prefer to rest him if the injury is of a bothersome nature that may linger if not managed well.

The umps are believing the Dusty hype. In the last few years it was like they wanted to take him down a peg or two, hair trigger paying frees against, reluctant to pay frees for. All changed now he's officially the man. Frees against are there, and there is now a bit of a hair trigger paying frees for. They know he's the best one-on-one player since stats have been kept, everyone does, they know if a player is one-out with Dusty there's a good chance they'll panic and give away a free.

It a change I'm savouring.

Heard Blake on SEN and not convincing Dusty will play Monday.

They will it till late.

Don't understand why they didn't rest him against the Lions ?

Very important player.

I'd rather he was rested if there's any doubt.
There's no way of replacing Dusty.

Groins need time. Rest him. It's not like we're playing tough opposition

As important and valuable a player as he is, Martin shouldn't be the difference between winning and losing against Melbourne. Let's test the depth of the Tigers' list.

If he isn't 100% no need to "Foley"him. By the way it's after a Friday, Saturday and Sunday night's.

He's only had 4 frees for this year, 8 against. Pretty much every year for the previous 4 years except last year he's averaged half the frees for as against.

If it was a slight hammy issue, say strain or tightness...I'd say he plays.

Groins problems are not to be messed with. Very much doubt he plays.

Yep groins are a prick to get over.

Completed training without trouble apparently. Likely to play. :thumbsup

Awesome news , not at all saying we are a one man team ,

but I do think he is that good ( if he is fit) he swings the advantage our way in this game

those stats are fine, but I'm referring to what I'm looking at. In years past a lot of frees against Dusty were *smile*, this years they have been there, and always because he is making the play and taking the game on so its fine. Same as the frees for, one-on-one, defender panics, free kick to Dusty. Used to be rare.

One thing I love about Dusty is that whenever an umpire pays a free against him, he doesn't whinge or complain, just gets on with it.

I wish there were a few more in the AFL system like him (hello Scott brothers).
