Dreamtime 2020 Game Day

This game will put to bed the Caracella is a genius and Hardwick can't coach myth :)

Tige's by 6 goals, Shai to hold the Boomerang aloft.

Maurice had the best side-step. He'd wheel onto the left and the opposition would think he was about to run the left-footers' arc, then in one step he'd cut back inside and slice through them. God, he was Magic.

Pity we couldn’t win the 82 Flag.
BOG in that GF.
Norm Smith.

What a player. Absolute joy watching for that brief period his star shone at the Tigers.

May his son light up the G and bring even half the excitement, thrills & Joy his dad did for me and many many others.

Thanks great one for the post and starting this thread.

We all need it.
Saturday can’t come quick enough.

ruckwise, i think we end up with Nank and Chol.
It may be worth giving Chol a week off tho to play Nank and Soldo this week (but then the WEagles are next so they might want them both against NicNat.)

re Markov- it would be real tough to drop him to bring back Houli, but someone has to come out of the backline.

It would also be tough to move him after he has played 2 of his best games at AFL level across half back.
maybe spend some time the wing, we tend to play them behind the ball.

Appreciate the connection with the Dreamtime concept, but the venue looms as a problem. August is the month where temperature and humidity begin to increase in Darwin, and this will be the latest in the calendar that an AFL match has been held there.

My concerns are infuenced by unpleasant memories of our only prior Darwin game, a 2011 "home" match against Port where we were heavily favoured to win but struggled to handle the greasy conditions.

Expecting to come up against another "special effort" from the opposition given that Essendon can't afford to lose, plus Caracella's knowledge of the gameplan. Won't surprise if Daniher is named.

Fingers crossed we can get it done and move on to the next challenge with a minimum of fuss.

Not sure where the idea od Daniher playing has come from. Is this anywhere in the media? On Essendrugs web site they list him as indefinite. Updated yesterday.

Exactly Lee.
I can see them ( last chance saloon ) bring back 5- 6 experienced bodies and rushing back Daniher.
It’s win or bust for them.
Plus the Caracalla knowledge.

That’s the talk after their game against St Kilda I kept hearing even I think one of the tv stations ran it on their sport segment. Think Channel Wisp.

Good luck to them rushing back senior players, we used to do that and look where it got us. If Daniher runs out he'll get injured again.

Won't matter either way.

Sounds like the nongs on Ch.7 trying to beat it up, and agree with antman, it would be dumb and/or desperate.

They were also talking Stringer a chance as well , good luck with that both he and Daniher won't play but happy if they do.

Be a shame if both broke down in the 1Q of the game

Just on the subject of the Sir Doug Nicholls round, I really hope our boys also get to understand and appreciate the life and achievements of Pastor Doug, and how much he did for Indigenous Australians, and his contribution to our society.

As a 10 year old, he came to my primary school and spent some time with my class. Too long ago for me to remember what he said but I came away with the thought that he was a beautiful, gentle human being.

Our boys will do us proud in Darwin.
