Flog any oranges?

Mate, this is Qld, Pineapples thanks!

Agree with what Bono says - mostly. I wouldn't be getting too wrapped up in the guy - he missed for good reasons from what we saw. Has some hammie issues - be good to see him coming into the finals though to see him at the business end. I reckon he's slow across the ground, but fast hands and smart head. He was tagged early and was good at working away from that . Has good hands either side, only saw him use right foot but was getting his right hammie tended to - so this may explain not using his left if he has one.

There was a kid from Redlands that was raw but impressed me more than Zorko - Adam Mueller. Looked about 190plus, really good at reading the play, was adept at leaving his man and contesting a mark, usually taking it. Kicking - needs work, but this is Qld! Just had a great capacity to be in the contest and has great soft marking hands. Be a good Rookie for the new Gold Coast side I'd reckon.

Had a BOG this weekend against the Suncoast Lions - a team Brisbane Lions players not in the main side. Kicked a lazy 6 too I think. This was quality opposition for the kid.

good stuff - must of been against the norm the day we saw him.

Another lazy 5 on the weekend from the midfield and among the best.....the kid keeps turning it on it seems. Has brought Broadbeach back into finals contention apparently.

Plays for Southport. He has a massive tattoo on his right arm so you wont miss him if your at the game. He played pretty well for QLD in the champs.

Good to see Dane Zorko get picked up by the Lions today.

The kid could surely play, just a bit short.

I do wonder how though Gold Coast could trade him, I wasn't aware he was on their list.

Would it be some zone rule the AFL has in place?

Anyway I will be interested on how he goes. He was definately above QAFL level when I saw him 2 years ago.

Mate, in effect Brisbane have paid Pick 34 for this pint-sized kid. He'd want to have improved a fair bit from what we saw of him at Broadbeach. Reckon it's way overs. Should of sent a Morton highlights package to Vossy me thinks - Pick 79 sheesh!

pick 34 - wow, didn't know that.

crazy vossy at it again.

I agree reference Morton. we won't use the pick most likely. The Swans will be the 1 side who will make him perform.

I think they downgraded 34 to 47 to add Zorko? Nothing trade.

Good to see Zorko getting a chance.

Was tragically cut down with a serious injury in his draft year.
Did very well over the last season or so to fight his way back.

Well done!

Clearly he picked up his act - watched him Broadbeach v Redlands a year or two ago and while he was good for that comp, not up to AFL standard then. That his motor and fitness has lifted is probably the difference - skills are nice, vision good, just missed too many crucial contests. There's not a lot of him though. Hope another Qlder makes it!

had a good game against us the other night, was one that kept them in the game, was close to being there best.

Zorko has been close to recruit of the year, just another reminder not to treat state leagues with contempt.

True. And well spotted 4 years ago by U2Tigers.

Another reminder that the most important thing is that a bloke can play footy, rather than his apparent lack of height.
