Dayne Zorko.

Gee he's kicking a lot of goals.

Does anyone know whether he's spending most of his time through the middle or up forward? As it'll be how he goes as a midfielder that'll see whether he's picked up or not you would think.

Hey U2Tiger,

No doubt you'll be around the traps watching QFL games.
A direct PM to Franky Mojojo, on his query, would be appreciated.
If you can CC me in too, I'd appreciate it.

Do you live near Broadbeach K3?

If so we should meet up if you are going to e there tomorrow.

Hey there Jonnomc. Unfortunately I live down in sunny *coughs* Melbourne, although I had the pleasure of the NSW Central Coast on the weekend otherwise would come along and shout you a beer no worries! :)

All the info I have gotten on Dayne has been from online resources, again unfortunately.

Did you manage to get along to the game mate?

Oh, and does anyone else find it strange that B Harvey can be running around as one of the league's best this season but no team will take a punt on Dayne "because of his height"? From what I have read he is a solid lad, which I would recruit ahead of a Fiora type physique any day!

to be honest I haven't gone to to many local games of late, however do read a bit about it, however I am aiming to get to a few games along with Pharace hopefully, and to be honest this kid is one I want to go and see, so if all is well June 14th as pharace says will be one we will be hopefully going to - I will make it a point to study his play in both the midfield role and his moving up forward.

plenty of hype up here about this kid - so I reckon someone will pounce.

The word "dominant" is being used I hear!

Spoke to a little birdie this evening. Told me that Broadbeach's FF from last year, Corey Fulton, got poached by Labrador and that they're playing Zorko at FF in his place.

He's going to have a look at Zorko, himself, over the coming weeks to see if this is true and and report back.

14 June V Redlands @ Coorparoo looks OK..........

Check out Mick Aitken who is FF for Redland, he's a freak, but is too old at 28. He was leading the goalkicking for the QAFL but has been injured for a few weeks.

As if on Cue - The Courier mail in QLD had this article today. Watch this kid come draft time.

GOLD Coast Football Club scouts will join recruiters from across the AFL in Townsville next week to monitor the performance of Broadbeach youngster Dayne Zorko for Queensland in the open-age state clash with Western Australia. GC17 scouts hope to identify the club's first official signings at the June 7 clash, with Broadbeach rover Zorko heading a list of potential draftees to be monitored.

Dayne Zorko? Glenn Screech? Fankhauser Reserve?

Do they have a Flash Gordon or a Ming The Merciless up there on Planet Gold Coast?

Not good to hear but Phantom what you said about Kory Fulton is correct he left at the end of the year when Craig oBrien the senior coach before shaun hart left.

He then left Labrador about 2 weeks ago and now is playing for palm beach.

well - Pharace and I did make the trip to see him play for Broadbeach agains Redlands last weekend.

Unfortunately a few of Redlands kids were away for State games so missed them.

Zorko - well, wasn't totally impressed myself -

1. Definately to short - had the body, just not the height. I can see why he got missed last year - at his height he would need more strings to his bow.

2. had 25 touches, quite a few were beauties. I was surprised to see he got that much - as he didn't seem to be in the gamme that much ( a bit lids like in that regard - )maybe not as damaging as he could be.

3. he has got great hands, quick to dish it off.

4. Tackles ok, finds himself in the right spot around the packs, plays forward of the middle, and IMO didn't work hard enough to get back in defence.

5. can kick alright - good kick for goal. didn't notice if he was good on both feet though.

6. outside players and got most his posessions from handballs recieved - good in that regard.

7. He was a very popular player amongst his team - when he kicked a goal his whole team came to him, something they didn't for anyone else.

8. gave away a few free kicks in the first half, some he shouldn't have.

9. Importantly Pharace noticed he wasn't right health wise which may have restricted him - had a deep cough- very flemmy type.

anyway Broady definately more classy on the day, Redlands did show endevour though. Broady ended up winning big in the end.

Zorko was ok - but definately not in the best few players.

Cheers U2Tigers.

What did you think his pace was like and did he look composed under pressure/in traffic?

yeah he looked very composed under pressure - his disposal in tight was good, however he definately wasn't a foley type - he was the one to get the handball from the inside mid. But in that position one finds himself still in tight - and then when his handballs out to another were very impressive - his disposal in tight were definately the most appealing thing I saw about him.

Now pace - It took us a while to come around, he looked slow from the start, which drew a comment between me and Pharace, however then we saw some real pace from him over short distances off the mark.

would like to see more of him to nail how quick he can be.
