David Teague

They come they go. Was not impressed with him at Bloose but must have been a mate of Dimma 's to get as spot at Punt Ro
ad. Most probably pop up at Gold Coast so if I was a assistant at GC watch your back.

Hopefully the process of removing dead wood & freshening up the club is in the making.

Mutual agreement to part ways. No bad blood. He wanted more involvement in forward ball movement but the answer was no.

Doesn't paint a picture of a harmonious relationship in the box all year. Teague had us highest scoring team in 2022 and even mid table last year in an average year. Went purely to forwards coaching this year. Yze has done most of the year on the boundary, I wonder what the environment in the coaches box has been like all year. Teague must have seen things going on that he felt he had to intervene. Was that player-driven? Did the players go to him and ask him to get back involved because they were unhappy with what Newman was doing? I can't see him asking for more involvement without players prompting. And if this is true, our midfield is our most experienced sector (Nank, Prestia, Hopper and Taranto), surely Teague isn't asking for more input without consulting some of this group?

There might not be any bad blood but it paints a picture of a coaching box and maybe a players group that doesn't like the gameplan.

Not great signs.

Tom Morris article says he was in in charge of offense in 2022 and 2023 but Newman replaced him in the role this season.

That’s not an easy task with Lynch missing so much footy past few seasons, however we were number 1 in the League for points scored in 2022.

Our offensive ball movement this season has been diabolical, however not sure if it can be related to Newy replacing Teague with the number of players we’ve had to use but it’s still an interesting notion to contemplate.

Next year, after another preaseason together under Yze, If we’re still taking a short kick out to the right back pocket and kicking long down the line, I’ll be pulling my hair out. Is this Rutten’s doing or the coaches in charge of ball movement/offense?

In the absence of a stand out candidate, I’m hoping Lambert gets the gig and we retain some of the IP and culture that made us such a good team thru the period he played.

Not sure how I feel about this.

On the one hand, Teague's record suggests he is very good at finding ways for his side to score. The so-called 'connection' between midfield and forward line is considered the missing link that ensures sides take advantage of field position and ball-winning dominance. It is ironic that Teague finished up on a day where we won the I50s but, yet again this season, couldn't take advantage of that supremacy. His frustration, under these circumstances, is understandable.

On the other hand, leadership teams must be united in vision and execution. In scoring the job, Yze has the right to mould the coaching group in his image.

I just hope that his vision is being well communicated and is capable of instilling solid belief throughout the club.

In my view, Teague should go with our best wishes. Clearly a fine contributor.

Can't see why he would be lost to the game.

Yze , is cleaning out the wood inherited from the sausage man , every right to get his own men in over his term .
We need to grind out top picks via a trade out next 3 years .

Prime Tom Lynch makes most coaches look better.
Missing him for two seasons after arguably his best year ever has been a disaster for our footy club.

Has issues with Newman's game plan and expressed his thoughts throughout the year but newman being a favourite son was supported to the hilt as senior assistant

The legend of Stig is still hovering over the forum, with his prediction that Teague wouldn’t last the season coming to fruition today…..

Newman really worries me. A seemingly very non inspirational man.
