David Astbury, Thank You

I'd have Astbury over Chaplin ever time. Chaplin is only good as a loose man. We need Astbury to take Petrie or Brown

Yes i agree, Grimes to Waite, Astbury to Petrie and Rance to Brown. Hopefully Dimma doesn't play Batchelor on Waite again.

Astbury to Petrie or whomever sits in the square, unless it's Waite. We need Rance on Waite. Batchelor will struggle for a matchup this week I think. Grimes to Thomas. Morris to Boomer. Hunt to the VFL

pref Chappy to this guy is kicking and marking better but still VFL

Worst defender on our list. He kills all movement of the ball.

Prefer Chaplin by the length of the Flemington straight.

His marking was a feature last night. He was very hungry for the ball, backing in his own ability. I liked his game.

This is a recurring nightmare. Just horrible team selection and then failure to switch almost culpable. You'd get one of thos Brad Scott wtf mouth agape expressions if it happens again this week.

Not 'if' it happens, 'when' it happens

needs to drink plenty of coffee before and during a game to get his speed up (both in pace and especially decision making as he is agonizingly slow and kills momentum)

Doesn't need to move the ball quickly if he's lining up for goal. Has similar attributes to Schulz.

I thought there were stages on Saturday where he did move the ball on quickly. Other stages where he was overly cautious.

He has tools to work with, and think he's definitely worth more than Chaplin. Chaplin should be gone by seasons end, we need to get games into Astbury, on the assumption we don't get another key position backmen.

That's coz Astbury's a fwd. not sure why Hardwick has him still languishing down back. I'd take Astbury over TV at the moment.
Spot on. Potential to be that 3rd dominant tall if only Dimma took his blinkers off.

Don't rate him at all as a backman but took some great grabs which would be perfect if he was stationed in our fwd 50. Replace TY with him up forward and all of a sudden our contested marks inside 50 would dramatically improve.

Alas, he will be left in the backline only to be slaughtered by a Petrie or Brown this week and make way for Chaplin whenever he returns.

Assburgers has retained his spot after a good showing in weak company. He's probably our preferred FB. If he can just go on with a bit it he'll do.

If he can towel up a Petrie or Brown that'd be a good result.
