yeah, the rumours were out there. Even Caro saw him as a chance for GC or a WA club next year.

He'll have his choice of club if he does want to continue coaching.
If he's burnt out I doubt he'll be a hypocrit and take on another club even next season.

Just hope we don't get Figgy.

Not shocked by it. It was inevitable sooner rather than later and if he's lost the passion then he's made a pretty brave call to end it now.

When was the last premiership coach to retire after Round 10 without a hand print on his back?

Shame Fly or Kingsley aren't around to step up. Not fussed who steps up at this stage.

Thanks Dimma, for everything. I still well up when I think of the drought breaker in 17. 19 and 20 have me grinning from ear to ear. If I ever see you in a bar or restaurant, your tab is on me.

Not sure if he'd coach again, but I wouldn't begrudge him the AFL funded retirement gigs of GCS or Tassie.

Shocked and saddened.
At least he can go out under his own steam and part of that tiny group ‘The Non-Sacked Coaches Club’

The era has ended as now it’s time to look at the future.

What direction will the club take? Another experienced coach or do we go down the untried path?

Some names that will get thrown around;
Hinkley
Simpson
Pyke
Leppitsch
Buckley

All credit to Dimma for doing the impossible and not only delivering us one Premiership, but 3 of them, and creating a whole group of club legends from his playing group. This is truly the end of an era, and even though it’s less than halfway through caps off a *smile* season.

Glen Jakovich wants Simmo sacked. Geez a lot of stories on current coaches this season.

Just got a call from a colleague who has a friend that's a player at the club, told me the news stating burnout and personal reasons. Assistant to step up but wont be xav Clarke.
