Damien Hardwick

Report in The Hun (cannot access) that when Kingsley landed at GWS, Dimma stopped talking to him.
So let's see what vitriol the media dumps on him.

No doubt it's time for younger players to put pressure on these snr types. They can't flounder in the seconds forever. If they do then we'll fall off a cliff when these guys soon retire. Need pressure coming from below on these aging champs.
Yep. Bunch of young blokes need to be knocking on the old geezers front doors, eviction notices n brochures for the local retirement village in hand.

Nothing new here. Hardwick only cares about Yellow & black.
As soon as Kingsley signed with GWS, it was over.
We were playing in the finals,
The early exit made it 10 times worse and Hardwicks priority was to get the 2 GWS boys to Punt Rd.
No time for a kiss & a cuddle.
Hardwick did what all top end Coaches/managers do.

He’s always very praising of Geelong. Unlike the twat coach from Geelong when he talks about Richmond…

Its probably his only weakness.
He praises the pricks instead of cementing some home truths.
*changing rules to suit them.
*They have the strongest home ground advantage in the comp.
*They seem to have no issues of signing up players
*but they seem to be the 1st club to whinge & sook when things go to shitt.
It happened after the 89GF, considering they went the biff to start with.
It happened when Blight said we lost to a state side in 92, and Thompson wasn't to accommodating of Hawthorn's win in 2008.

Yep and I'm glad he didn't mention him too. Loved the way he sold himself in the end to stay on as coach for as long as the club wants him.

Sounds like Harford knows his way around the drug scene by that closing slip of the tongue.

I think Harford hears a lot and is a bit of a gossip. I used to work with someone who was friends with him and I heard all about Bomber Thompson's predilections from that person which came from Harford.

With so many teams now following the Richmond strategy of moving the ball quickly & with the new rules making it difficult to defend how are we going to maintain our competitive advantage?
I was listening to the guy from Champion Data on SEN tonight & Carlton are one of the few teams that don't look to move the ball forward at every opportunity.
This may have been one reason why our game seemed so congested & other games seemed much quicker as defences were allowed time to settle. The game looked slower & I think Carlton's ball movement was a big reason for that.
I'm looking forward to seeing how what game plan Dimma & co. looking to implement this year goes against other sides because it wasn't immediately clear last Thursday..

If the is true it will be interesting to see if that was how the Blues want to play, or if it was a strategy to nullify us? Or and if it was to nullify us, how teams like the cats, pies, dees etc will go against teams playing that slow style.

It seems strange to me that Carlton wouldn’t want to play a fast play on style because they have two of the better key forwards in the game.
If they can get McKay and Curnow one on one it would be to their advantage I would have thought.

or is it his greatest strength
He’s wanting to teach the playing group the values and behaviours of the “Richmond Man”

Best to live it , what ever the opposition *smile* and gripe about , don’t stoop to their level, be gracious in defeat

Don’t give them easy ammo or get into bogan style slanging matches , the more he says they are a well run club they are a very well coached club , that will only get up their noses

I want the parents of National Draft Prospects to be saying to their sons "I hope Richmond calls"
I want Free Agents to think "wow Richmond are into me"
I want the Club to build enduring strength that comes from setting and maintaining high standards , on and off the field

I don't want to descend back into the 80's/90's type rabble

Yeah, stats dont say whether it was Carltons intention to play slow, or our defence that made them play that way.

Sounds like Dimma was pretty happy with Mansells game last week going by his presser, so I don’t think there’ll be many changes other than Ross perhaps?
