Having a very good game. So he should don't you reckon on this wicket?

Nagpur he was poor. He's had 2 very good games. Admire his longevity. He hasn't had much competiton.

An average of over 31 would suggest a good player. But he's got almost 500 wickets so what would I know really.

We would have been lost without him over the past decade. Irreplaceable with no one near his capabilities.

Has taken 19 of our countries 42 wickets this series. HUGE.

Yeah, I've said before if you're going to say 'oh, Lyon should be taking 11/99 on pitches like this', then you have to acknowledge he's played half his Tests in Australia, which is filled with the ashen bones of great finger spinners.

Murali averaged 75 in Australia.

Ashwin averages 42 in Australia.

Swann averaged 53 in Australia.

Vettori averaged 45 in Australia.

Tim May averaged 40 in Australia, 34 overall.

Mallett averaged 33 in Australia.

Yardley averaged 32 in Australia. Had two very good years.

Australia has always been a graveyard for finger spinners.

Nice numbers LD.

Today he led from the front and really stood up. Maasive.
Wasnt the case in the first test or necessarily the first innings of this match. So a bit of a mixed bag including top shelf stuff

Mixed bag? He's taken near 50% of our wickets.

And not sure how you say didn't stand up in the first innings of this Test 3-35 (Pujara, Jadeja, Bharat).

This aint a mixed bag of lollies.

Smith should be restored to the captaincy. He's been outstanding.
I think I agree; he has seemed sharper, more decisive and astute than Cummins. There's good reason why few bowlers, even great ones and especially fast ones, have been or made captains. They need to focus so much on their bowling and are closer to physical exhaustion often. whereas batsmen, after a long innings can recover fielding in the slips. Which few fast bowlers are adept at either.

However, he still got those early DRS wrong - poor Starc.

My main concern is that the guy is IMO very egocentric ... and eccentric. I think he's wired differently - quite obsessive and myopic. So fidgetty at the crease; always rehearsing strokes, most likely even in his sleep. His real insensitivity and awful judgement over sandpaper gate still disturbs me.

I'm still not sure he's made of the right material to be the captain. "Once bitten ..." Maybe Head will step up.
