Cricket

Your knowledge of other men’s appendages is quite interesting.

What can I say, I'm a connoisseur.

So go easy on Lyon. Despite it being a turning wicket, it actually doesn't suit him or his exceptional record.

My issue with him here isn't any different than in a lot of 4th innings in Australia. He goes conservative far too quickly and tries to wait batsman out rather than take the game to them.

Apparently he is a very insecure cricketer who struggles with confidence and it shows. Needs to bring the outside edge into play instead of heading for middle and leg as soon as things get tough.

Lyon doesn't have enough variation to his bowling. He bowls the same ball 100x each innings. Once batsman get set against him, they just wait for the odd bad ball.

His 4th innings bowling record is poor when compared to other off-spinners.

And IMO has always bowled too straight. Warne always talked about it when commentating on Lyon.

He simply doesn't have the level of control of the best offies.

Kudo's for longevity but he's not a match winner and has had luck with the timing of his career.

My gob is beyond smacked that Head didn't play.

If Green's finger wasn't right to risk, fair enough, but if he could bat he should have played.

Poorly balanced side with two right arm hit the deck pacemen and two offies. Two top 6 batsmen who haven't played in years. Opener who's never made runs there and now looks at the end.

So hard to win in India. We've won one series there in 54 years. And that team was chockas with all time greats:
Hayden
Langer
Katich
Martyn
Lehmann
Clarke
Gilchrist
Warne
Gillespie
Kasprowicz
McGrath

That's the XI that beat India in 2004. I count eight all-time greats (three Immortals) and three hardened, highly experienced, highly talented senior pros. With the captain and fourth Immortal injured in the stands.

Agree. I don’t normally go on about team selection like a lot of people do infinitum - very tiring the endless team selection debate in cricket before and after every single game win lose or draw - but on this occasion it bears pointing out. Woeful team selection.

Aussies have outsmarted themselves again. Should have just picked our most talented team.

How Warner keeps getting a game is beyond me. Should have been dropped for good when Broad made him look like a goose for 5 Tests straight in England last time.

Indian team claiming it was pain relief for his finger. Given more of it went on the ball than the finger I find that difficult to believe. Particularly given the Aussies had hardly inflicted any pain on the ball at that stage.

First, they doctor the pitch and now they are tampering with the ball. The funny thing is they'd still beat us even without cheating.

Don't understand this bowling line. Where is the uncertainty being created? Its almost a given that you have to play at every ball.

Surely you want the batsman to have some indecision about whether to play at the ball or not? You only create that by throwing it outside the stumps.

What do you (and others) expect when 2 of the 3 people picking the team are Victorians.

What the absolute *smile* is this effdamn siren for a no-ball??? Jarring.

Murphy impressive. Where's he from?

The two Victorians Boland and Murphy are bowling beautifully together in tandem.

Victoria has always been able to produce quality bowlers. It's the dumb mans craft.

Conversely, this lack of intellect is why producing quality international batsmen has been beyond the state for many decades.

Likewise, it also suggests having two of your three selectors from that state is not a good idea. As we have seen this test.
