Cricket

There's only 1 recognised batsman in the squad. Going with all all rounders does not work.
Particularly when most of them can't bat or bowl.
Park cricketers, most of them. The Windies team are mostly white ball cricket mercenaries, just chasing the $ playing hit n giggle cricket, but at least they specialise in this *smile*.

It’s taken CA a few years to catch on but the BBL season ends January 28 next season. Bout time, the previous seasons have dragged on far too long.

Has CA hired someone who knows what they're doing?

  • A late September start for the Sheffield Shield
  • A Shield round and at least two Marsh Cup rounds for each state before Australia leave to attend the T20 World Cup.
  • Five Shield rounds before the opening Test of the summer, an inaugural clash against Afghanistan in Hobart from November 27.
  • Six Shield rounds ahead of the first Ashes Test at the Gabba
  • A possible Australia A v England A four-day match at Brisbane’s Ian Healy Oval proposed to run concurrently with the first Ashes Test, which would ensure more first class cricket for Test hopefuls.

Well done.

Vodafone Men's Test v Afghanistan
Nov 27 – Dec 1: Test match, Blundstone Arena

Vodafone Men's Ashes v England
Dec 8-12: First Test, The Gabba
Dec 16-20: Second Test, Adelaide Oval
Dec 26-30: Third Test, MCG
Jan 5-9: Fourth Test, SCG
Jan 14-18: Fifth Test, Perth Stadium

Good one, I remember the good old days when shield games were played concurrently with test matches.

See the batting order?

Philippe
Carey
Marsh
Henriques
Wade
Turner
Agar

Not a proper batsman amongst them. Disgraceful, Mickey Mouse selections.

How the *smile* does Langer keep his job? Has a team he's coached ever won anything? The Scorchers have won about 7 BBLs but none when he was coach. The Warriors, nada. Australia loses at home to the Indian second XI and this bloke still has a job. Teflon. Useless.

This selection strategy has manifestly failed yet they still continue with it, simply ludicrous.
