Coronavirus

I think Gladys identified and targeted the unvaccinated base in the West, copping much criticism , but she was spot on and as a result case numbers have fallen.

Gladys.

How is she going right now? Some might say its not relevant to the topic… But its her fault we had this Delta wave and this ICAC hearing is telling us she is corrupt to the core and should have quit 12 months ago. Who knows where we’d be if someone else was in charge this year in NSW.

Yes, it is standard practice for NSW politicians of both parties to be corrupt. A disgrace.
Re Delta....well, Vic let the removalists in and also the couple in isolation who were the source of the outbreak in the West of Melbourne....who were visited illegally by a Melbourne teacher.
The original source in NSW was an airport driver who was unvaccinated and refused to wear a mask.
Don't think you can blame Gladys for covid in Vic. No issues in other states.

A breach like any other breach before it, but within a few days Mr Gazzard was talking about "living with the virus". Well he got his wish.

Interesting that when pressed for a breakdown of the 25 deaths into vaxxed/unvaxxed, deputy CHO Ben Cowie said the data was available but “we’re not going to be reporting on that”.

It's fair enough that they might be concerned about misinterpretation of the numbers, but this is where they need to patiently explain what we're seeing. Refusing to disclose such simple figures creates the impression they have something to hide.

Transparency please, for better or worse.
Why wouldn’t they say? I’m genuinely curious.

Yes that's the case regarding NSW very quickly moving to living with covid, but I think NSW could see the reality of Delta from OS experience.
They knew it would be near impossible to stop so took a different approach to Vic , which has since found it could not eliminate Delta.

Well going by Perrottet's views since taking over he wouldn't even have locked down and his soon to be seventh kids would have been at school throughout ;)

I thought Perrotet was officially declared by the informed commentariat to be the let it rip devil on his day of ascendancy , now you think he might have done better than Gladys?

Ha ha. Your bias knows no bounds.

Next you'll blame Gladys for the storm we had today. She probably led the attack on the CFMEU headquarters. Perhaps she was responsible for the tigers missing the finals as well?

Like Kennett got blamed for everything back in the day:

you can only conclude that a big chunk were vaccinated unfortunately. Concern is the vaccination alone is not enough to save some of the vulnerable. Developing an effective medicine will be key.

Sincerely sorry for your loss.

however, it would be very very unlikely your friends death was caused by the vaccination.
As of early Sept, there had been 9 deaths linked to the vaccination, all after the first dose of AZ.
Out of over 19 million doses.
0.000047% mortality rate.

hundreds of people die every day of various diseases and causes. Most of them now will be vaccinated.
My neighbour died suddenly a couple of weeks ago, and he was vaccinated too.

correlation does not imply causation

Apparently Pfizer #2 is more likely to knock you around than Pfizer #1, but the myocarditis thing is almost exclusively seen in under 30’s (mostly males).

If Coronavirus doesn’t get you , the vaccination will . Close friend died over night of heart failure . 62yo perfectly fit . Walked 10k a day
Holidayed in a campervan for past 6 months in QLD
Returned back to Victoria 6 weeks ago
Vaccinated 2nd shot last Monday week
Spoke to him every day . Am shattered
The autopsy will be of interest.
The issue of heart inflammation is a huge concern . Leave it at that !
Long bow there

Went out for tea tonight, how nice.

Anyway, we all have to be vaccinated at the restaurant, I doubt you would get in without a booking, so how did this work?

Well, very easy and very smooth.

Walked up to the restaurant, they asked about the booking, all fine. You scan the QR code next to the guy checking your booking, flash the app (State Govt app) which has confirmation which originally comes from the Medicare Express app so you can't fake that, and in you go. A few people in front of us, all did the same thing, added all of 5 seconds to getting in to the restaurant.

Can't see the problem. Was quick, everyone was happy to scan in and the vaccine verification being in the scan in app means it is very easy. Don't know what all the fuss is about, unless of course someone tries to get in unvaccinated, but there is no sane reason to do so.
