Coronavirus

It’s really a question on whether you think you are showing symptoms in the end assuming you don’t qualify under any of the other criteria.

Wondered Tuesday & Wednesday if I was being silly not to get tested but am coming out the other side now, no fever today so far. I kinda regret mentioning it now, but thanks for all the well-wishes.

It's only natural to be concerned about it L2, it also may help others who are in a similar situation. Glad to hear that you're on the improve.

just in from Woolworths.

the latest run and customer limitation is on condoms.

'fair enough' I go to Josephine my regular check out operator 'a dirty arse only lasts until the next shower, a baby lasts 80years'

Josephine laughed and goes 'no, they are using them on their finger , to touch keypads and touch screens. I just had someone enter their PIN with a condom on their finger!!'

I lost it and LOL'd and Jo deadpans

'nuts hey? condoms are $2 each and a packet of 50 disposable gloves is $1.99'

'yeah. I'm a lot more scared of people than this virus. all the best' as I left with my box of groceries

and then I went to dan Murphys and bought 6 bottles of a nice cuban rum.

The economic hit is going to be felt for along time.

Maybe years.

There will be countries inEurope especially hit the hardest.

In Aus there will be companies, small businesses, industries, self employed and so many more.

It’s hard to remain neutral.

I’m trying hard LTRTR.

I need more humorous insights from EzyT and TM to continue and for me to keep reading other posts on all other topics tokeep me level headed.

I feel for many people who will do it hard.

Would it have been better to have bunker down, close everything for 2-3 weeks?

Next month will be the key.

I think I might keep away for the coming weeks.

Supermarkets are already starting to take advantage of this situation I feel.
Saying they have no stock on the necessaries , example milk, rice etc so that in a few weeks time jack the prices up.

It’s good they are placing a limit of 1 per item on many things but people still trying and hoarding but getting stopped at the register.

They are also asking people to pay by Card!

I saw today so many people with masks, now wearing gloves too!

Gone Mad and I’m going mad in a different way.

Adios for now guys/girls.

I’m bunkering down and watching, reading, observing by afar.

The Cuban rum will definitely kill the virus, if not well you won't give a s***

In the midst of that is the graph which i saw earlier in the week. It shows that countries that take hard actions early reduce the ultimate severity of epidemics of these viruses. It’s why even though it may seem draconian these actions are necessary
There is lots of data on this, reduce risk of spread early

Just got an email from my gym saying all operations including swimming will continue as normal. Good. I'm due for a workout tomorrow.

Yes, strong containment helps early. I think in western countries we've seen that politicians are unwilling to do that. Too late for Containment now in Australia, so now we are on to Delay - which helps health systems cope by spreading the burden over a longer time frame. Same amount of infections but fewer mortalities.

I hope all these keep calm carry on people know that if they continue to do high risk things such as gathering in large groups, not washing their hands, travelling for fun, etc, they are putting other people at risk, not just themselves.

There's more than a little of the anti vaxxer mentality out there at the moment.

Our government hasn't had the stones to do anything drastic yet, but as individuals, we could take some social responsibility and attempt to limit our risk of both catching and spreading the infection.

I don't know why the folks in charge are waiting. We will have quarantines and lock downs eventually. I guess we're just waiting till it's too late to be useful.

The problem we have is many can't understand what's possible with the virus. No one dying today so what's the big deal. If this lockdown works and we reduce the impact in Australia, the same fools we claim they were right, it's an over reaction. Even the King of Fools has now declared an emergency in the US, you'd think the naysayers would stop and re-evaluate thier position.

Reminds my of the Y2K bug. Nothing happened so it was all a hoax apparently. As someone that worked for two years testing and remediating systems, I can tell you that without the effort that went into the Y2K remediation, not many systems would have worked come 1/1/00.

You should be honoured for saving the life of many computers.
