Coronavirus

Plenty of people chose not to march because it was a dumb idea to do so in a pandemic. If that means they have an agenda, it's to protect public health.

Also as has been said many times these people were warned by health officials NOT to march in a large gathering. To compare it with people shopping for essentials is just being provocative.

very true,

but there are also racist people attempting to hide in the complexity

People always have their agendas but be careful not to tar everyone with the same brush is all I am saying.

don't think you need to worry about tar splatter Oldy,

these blokes are pretty easy to spot, and give them a touch of the tar brush :afro

there is a very tenuous correlation in Victoria (so 1 dodgy correlation for the argument that the BLM protests led to a rise in cases)

H&M Northland / North Melbourne family / Brimbank family
Area: Preston-Darebin LGA

Cluster declared: 18 June

Current size: Unknown, at least 30

The first person diagnosed was a staff member at the H&M store who also attend the Black Lives Matter protest on 6 June, but was not considered to be infectious at the time. Two days later a second staff member contracted the virus. They also attended the protest but are believed to have been infected at the store.

By 26 June the cluster had grown to 15, the majority household contacts of a staff member.

While some reports have suggested that the “North Melbourne” in the cluster’s name refers to the region of “northern Melbourne”, the DHHS has twice confirmed to Guardian Australia that the name does, in fact, refers to the suburb of “North Melbourne”. However, this does not necessarily mean that all, or even most, associated clusters are actually located within that suburb.

On 25 June a new “Brimbank Family” cluster was declared, which grew to six cases over the next few days. On 29 June the health minister said a link had been found between this cluster and the North Melbourne outbreak.

When are you lot going to learn that I don't make sh!t up???

You can choose whether to believe the unsubstantiated underlined bit. It doesn't claim they didn't contract the virus at the protest.

To say that people going to H&M, jb hifi, Zing etc is essential, whereas people dying in custody doesn't matter is just opinion. It has no bearing on how disease spreads.

Did you seriously just post an article that says someone didn't catch the virus at the protest, but caught it at a shopping centre?

If that's what you think it says, I can't help you.

That is what it says.

Two people who work at a store in a shopping centre caught covid. Are you saying, despite what the article says (and logic says) that it's more likely they caught it from each other walking around outside together for a couple of hours, than working together in an enclosed space for a longer period of time?

At least one already had it or caught it off someone else at the protest. Then they brought it to work.

Or else in an amazing coincidence, this one person in one store caught it from an infected customer at around the same time as the protest while presumably observing workplace social distancing and with no other stores in a major shopping centre being infected.

You just saying they caught it at the protest doesn't mean it happened.

There's always going to be a cross section between people who do any activity and people who will at some point catch Covid.

What you're doing is the same as me saying, 90% of people catch Covid at supermarkets because you can track everyone who has it back to a point where they went to a supermarket.

Which is obviously nonsense. Obviously.

You can blame whoever you like. I said I was done with it, but you lot couldn't help yourselves and raised it from the dead.
At least you've jumped off your idiotic BLM protests caused this so we are making some progress

What? You started this protest nonsense again.

And every time you realise that what you're saying is absolute garbage, you just say you don't want to talk about it any more.

So stop saying it!

Gone, is she? I believe she still has her title. And you had to dig pretty deep to find an incidental remark from Dan.

He hasn’t accepted responsibility properly and I wouldn’t expect it of him. But it’s gone bad on his watch.

PS the protesters were selfish arseholes.

This is where you resurrected this topic. I hadn't mentioned it since you suggested we drop it.

And I apologise for calling you thick.

I was getting frustrated. In that case that makes me the worse person.

People out crowding the shopping centres are not just shopping for essentials.
