USA would be better off with Kim Jong-un as their leader. Trump is a fair dinkum looney. Amazing how many Americans live off his every word. The country is a basket case.

They're as sharp as bowling balls over there in the US of A.

2:11 p.m.: Maryland warns residents not to ingest disinfectant after receiving more than 100 calls
Maryland sent out an emergency alert after receiving more than 100 calls on consuming disinfectant as a possible treatment to COVID-19, according to the governor's office.

They were probably just being sarcastic

Trump making his beloved Breitbart looking silly now. This was their take on the Trump comment before he came out with the "sarcastic" comment.

Trump used the word “inject,” but what he meant was using a process — which he left “medical doctors” to define — in which patients’ lungs might be cleared of the virus, given new knowledge about its response to light and other factors.

It was a truly memorable presser yesterday. Even Fox baulked at what Trump said about injecting.

One potential positive side effect of all this is that the people who listen to Trump and act on his words are most likely Trump voters. If he keeps offering his gut feel medical advice there won't be many trump voters left come November.

Dr Trump now gas-lighting today saying he was being sarcastic to reporters yesterday to see what would happen. :rotfl2
I reckon he's jumped the shark with this one. Comes off as a desperate crazy liar. Any credibility he had is now mud.
America is a laughing stock whilst he's their president.

we all know he is stupid, most sensible people have always known it, and those who took a while to realise im sure would now happily admit they were wrong, but im not sure what would actually be worse, the prez seriously suggesting injecting disinfectant, and the prez sarcastically suggesting it, and leaving it out there for 24 hours before letting everyone in on the brilliant joke.

Who knows what they'll do over there, you'd think they'd be too embarrassed to have him as their President again.
He's a dead set laughing stock, as they would be if they voted him in again.
One thing I do know, the lead up to the election will be more toxic that this hideous COVID-19 virus.

The USA is never embarrassed by what the rest of the world thinks about them. For the leaders, they don't care, the rest of the country take little or no notice of anything outside their exceptional country. Very insular. Look at the percentage of US citizens who hold a passport, very low because they don't want to see the rest of the world. Which is also why you meet the best of their country when you meet Americans overseas, they are the ones who actually understand there is a whole world outside of the USA.

The only time I went to the USA it was bemusing to see the way their immigration officials are so suspicious of everyone. They have the attitude that you will want to overstay your visa and stay there. Why would I want to live in that hole?

Yep, the USA is still quite likely to vote this idiot in for a second term, even after his gross incompetence over his pandemic.

Very true, they are very ignorant.

I went to the Sydney Olympics, and I can't remember why, but I was in a mini bus at Bondi Beach. I couldn't help ear wigging two American guys who were sitting in front of me. They were talking about Australia, they couldn't believe how good it was here, and didn't realise that there were places like that outside the USA.

Wrong. Over 40% of Americans hold passports.

Although if you are seriously considering injecting yourself with disinfectant you may as well be asking a doctor of philsosphy or economics or...

or Eddie Mcguire for a discount on your membership

True that many are but I can attest there's plenty of Americans who are absolutely embarrassed by their president right now. Certainly some friends of mine are at least.
That said they're now Australian Citizens as of about 5 years ago. Left voluntarily. They hate the way America is going.

Its alright, Americans don't understand sarcasm anyway.

Someone should ask don about his comedic timing - with 50000 plus deaths is it really time to be taking the *smile*?

So we're going to have an app with lots of people's data stored so people can work out if they have had contact with someone who is infected.

Who would you trust the data to? Somewhere secure, a struggling Australian tech company maybe?

How about a tech company known for collecting lots of data on everyone? How about a company which will likely store the data overseas? How about we contract it out to Amazon. FFS.

And Scott from Marketing says they will legislate so the data is protected. Really? You do realise that they will store the data overseas . . . where Australian laws don't apply?

Well that should turn a lot of people off.

Sovereignty is a gimme. What about Telstra? At the end of the day they could already report on triangulation of people's mobiles on their network to a level that could determine who has been in proximity to someone with the lergy.
