That goal was a career highlight and his ability to send the ball in was excellent. Has been in career best form for weeks now.

Bruised or broken ribs, I reckon. Wallet will play him anyway.

Showing genuine leadership currently Jack and great to see you giving him a wrap.
Perhaps he's seen the vacancy sign on the Captaincy.

Nice torp.

A career highlight? I think it will wind up being a season highlight. He's got a couple of weeks to get over the ribs and I think he'll line up against Melbourne. Newmo is tough, Tiger tough.

fantastic to have a highligt like that 'super' goal he booted.

A future leader of the tiges!

Word is punctured lung, but could be right for Dees game

Yep, spot on Corn Chips.

Confirmed by the CEO today, and did say he thought he would be back for the Dees.

Come back from 2 broken ribs and punctured lung today. Had a fitness test before the game. HUGE effort, but is it worth it? Should he have been rested?

Re: Newman

Gee, I didn't know that. I thought that he was quiet and that's a reasonable excuse.

I guess that he should have been rested, I would have hated to see what would have happened if Pickett had lined him up.

That ranks up there with Richo's effort against Essendon for courage and leadership.

For those who don't think that these boys really want to win, have a long, hard look at yourselves.

Well done Newman.

Plenty of courage but it might have been better if he'd been rested.

Agree. Really can't see the point in risking him, or any other player of the future with such injuries. What's to be gained?

Four points Gypsy.

Might be useful if we were on the cusp of the eight. Or ideally, entrenched in the eight. Unfortunately neither scenario is a reality.

He managed to run quick enough in the last to run down one of the demons.

Terry said he was spent after that, and was hurting after the game. I'd have prefered he be rested.
