Changes Vs the Power Ranger

I love our wings at present (not in stats but effect), I wouldn't be swapping out Marlion or Kamdyn even though Marlion is a capable mid.
Broad hasn't shown he can play anywhere but back, (which is no fault of his own as he hasn't be tried elsewhere), not time to experiment for mine.
There is nothing wrong with Broad's aerobic capacity but unlike others I don't think he would be a hit on the wing.
I agree - Marlion and Kamdyn are my two wing locks. Interesting though that they are training Broad in that position. Perhaps it is just a back up option in case of emergency.

Richmond’s Physical Performance Manager Peter Burge provides Richmond Media with the latest injury report, brought to you by Victor Sports.

Ivan Soldo, ruptured anterior cruciate ligament and medial ligament

“Really disappointing for the big fella, he’s going to be out for an extended period of time. He is seeing the surgeon this week and he will have surgery over the coming weeks, possibly up here on the Gold Coast.
“It’s obviously disappointing for Ivan, he was having such a great year. We will start his rehabilitation process over the coming weeks after his surgery.”

Tom Lynch, hamstring
“Tom had a very minor incident out on the far wing of the ground. He has never had a hamstring strain before, so he came to the bench saying he thinks he cramped, or something maybe a little bit worse than that.
“We did a little bit of testing and he had a little bit of a tiny nick in the hamstring, and scans have shown the same result. But it is on the minor end of the scale.
“He did some strides today running at about 50-60 per cent and had minimal awareness, so we are feeling pretty good about where that’s going to end up over the next week.”

Dion Prestia, ankle

“Dion’s going really well. Dion’s clocking up some kilometers, and running at a really good speed, at high speed and borderline sprint at the moment.
“He will introduce in some football skills later this week and we are planning to obviously increase that next week, and hoping if all goes well to play (him in) some sort of scrimmage practice in the bye week between the last game and the finals.”

Shane Edwards
“Shane was great today. Shane’s in great shape; he has had a long pre-season back in Melbourne and then two weeks in the quarantine hub training with the boys from the other clubs.
“He’s raring to go, he is desperate to play, and providing he has a good week of training with us, then he will be available for selection on the weekend.”

David Astbury, knee
“David played 48 minutes in the scrimmage against Geelong on Saturday ... and it went really well.

“He is available this week for selection, whether that’s AFL or scrimmage, that’s up to the coaching group. He just needs to have another really good week of training and then we will assess his availability from there.”

"Dave played 48 minutes in the scrimmage against Geelong on Saturday..."

I thought people on here were saying the entire game was only 20 minutes??

18 v 18 too, with 14 Richmond blokes participating.

No way we bring in a debutant now. Our finals wildcard this year is Mabior Chol's self-belief.

Whats with the RCD hope and prayers?

On the last scratch match footage, where they had a camera dedicated to every senior listed player and looped their highlights,

RcD featured once.

Hugo looked ahead in the queue.

Ive got nothing against blind optimism,
But i reckon the RCD participates in fairy tale back2back campaign narrative

Is very far fetched.

Even modern RfC will still have the odd bust
Did you read the players summary for the scratch match. no way Hugo ahead of RCD

Did you read the players summary for the scratch match. no way Hugo ahead of RCD

No i didnt, but let me guess

'Riley played really well. We think hes going to be a good player for us'

Dont get me wrong, i hope RCD comes runner up in the 2020 norm smith.

But I suspect hes the nearest thing we have on our list to a bust.

But i really hope im wrong

I am only going two changes. The Astbury half game was not enough for me.

In: Chol, Edwards
Out: Soldo, Lynch

Nankervis to do the bulk of the ruck work. Chol to provide 5 minute reliefs each quarter.

Going by that ..

Out- Soldo & Lynch injured.
Ins- Edwards & Chol.
Doubt we will see any debutants.
If they go for 3 outs ? Broad a possible in but for who?
Another week/2 -Astbury, Prestia & Caddy .

SEN this morning - Jordan Lewis banging one about Rohan not playing... Stanley, Ablett and Selwood to come back. The prelim last year they were without Hawkins. Seriously these idiots are delusional. We should’ve won by 7+ goals on the weekend without our reigning BnF winner, a 2019 All Australian, a pretty handy duel premiership defender in Dave Astbury..... oh and we were 2 down in the second half. Does any of that get a mention? No of course not.
Don’t you agree 100% that success is the best revenge? only way to shut up the press and other salty supporters is to keep winning ..
Oh yeah agree with others think Dave will be a bit underdone this week .. so yeah changes :
In: Chol, Edwards
Out: Soldo, Lynch

How will we recognise you? Will you have clothes on, or will it be business as usual?
Good questions Celebrant.

I'm thinking of posting a series of clues throughout the game.

For example -
Before the first bounce I could say something like - Right Hand Pocket, drink in each hand.:)
Quarter Time clue could be - Retro scarf, drink in each hand :D
At half time I could say - Retro scarf waving wildly, drink in each hand (spillage a/c scarf waving), lots of abuse towards Tex (and anyone in a Crows jumper) :p
Three Quarter Time clue could be - Retro scarf lost somewhere between the bar and the dunny, drink in each hand, cops nearby:mad:
Final siren clue will likely be - Mrff, Brrff Mrff (bloody cops), bail needed :flush:vomit

Broad playing wing / ruck is interesting

if caddy is fit -
- caddy replaces lynch
- chol replaces soldo
- edwards replaces ross

if caddy isn't fit -
- chol replaces lynch
- broad replaces soldo (broad / marlion alternate wing/ruck relief)
- edwards replaces ross

Not sure why so many want to drop Ross. Thought he was ok on Friday night. Aarts would be the one in trouble if there’s a 3rd to make way for someone.

Edwards is a mid. Aarts a fwd. a mid will most likely make way for edwards

Not when it frees up Bolton and Edwards to both rotate through the forward half.

We havent had the ability or dare I say the Luxury of doing that this season.

Its what we won the cup with last year I can certainly see them doing it again.

Someone is gonna have to make way long term for Edwards and Dion and Aarts and Ross are the first two that come to mind save for injury or suspension.

Its clear we are going to try and run and pressure the opposition off the ground in the finals to beat the flood should anyone attempt it.

The idea of using Broad in the Grigg type role may not be as outrageous and silly as one would think especially with Marbs available.

The Tigers MC prefer to win second clearances as opposed to first, thus they may consider the strengths that Broad in a Grigg role would provide might outweigh breaking even on half a dozen ruck contests. We only really win the hit outs with Soldo rucking the majority of time anyway.

Broad also provides another serious gut runner at ground level that can get up and down the ground better and for much longer than most rucks, which opens both attack but also lends him to assist down back to allow the likes of Houli and Markov to really get off the line and attack hard up the ground.

If they weren't considering this option he wouldn't be playing that role in practice.

Against a one ruck side this would be very feasible.

It might also force an opposition to drop a ruck or tall which may disadvantage them or again play another tall to try a mismatch that may not work in the slippery night conditions of a GF this year.

Apparently Adelaide will have Tex, Talia and McKay available for selection this week
