Don’t see that making McIntosh the sub is dropping him.

If properly used a sub can be like dynamite. Maximum momentum from a bloke who is experienced and can be relied upon to use the ground to his advantage and who can mark, and kicks accurately, gives the team a new and different dimension.
So far we have just used a sub like a fifth interchange. It can be something else.
