Changes versus Port

No change.

and I actually can't see what possible change anyone could want

I think the most vulnerable player in tonights side is Dave Astbury.

and as if were gonna drop him?
This might be an occasion where Balta is happy for Dave to be back. Dixon gave him a bit of a touch-up last time.

Im going to indulge some crazy talk. Its nerves.

Last time we played Port, we had Ross- Stack - $hai in the guts for significant stints.

and Wines had 10 clearances. (Boak and PepperPig weren't far behind)

Wines is 187/98. He's in great form. PepperPig is 95 kegs (but he's not in Wines class IMO)

and I think the MC might have a conversation. If it was a game of rugby, they be 4D modelling the pack weights.

Jack Graham is the incumbent big bodied defensive mid. He is 181/82. In theory, he isnt big enough, all though we know in practice, he is.

However, I think the MC will entertain the following match ups for Wines, bulking up our centre set up, and indulging the laws of physics

Broad 192/89
Caddy 186/87
RCD 189/89

and they'll back in Jack Graham

Geez I didn’t know RCD was that big.

Throw him in with Dusty and Fridge and all of a sudden there’s some serious sweaty nutsacks in the middle

dunno what the hell happened there, quadruple post?? then I somehow deleted the original and the other disappeared.

wasn't very important. I was saying snakes going to the prelim, not me. But he is orders of magnitude more reckless and uncensured at the footy.

he makes me look like a non-verbal gentleman.

so we are well represented.
Sherlock Holmes with a switchblade. I was fairly intimidated when he wanted to take on 4 essendrugs hooligans behind the stands at the Dreamtime game. He asked me to hod his jacket and cane, removed his monocle and pipe, rolled up his crisp white sleeves and shot me a toothy grin ‘never fear my friend fastin, I am well versed in the art of mega violence, myself and @eZyT used to wrestle richo the bull for fun as children.’

Our clearance numbers were very pleasing vs the Saints. Good news heading into this week's game that we've finally got that part of our game up & going with recent additions..

Lambert is badly out of form.
We need caddy as an extra option forward.
Therefore
Lambert out
Caddy in

I'm tempted to agree. Plays forward and swaps straight with Martin for stints in the guts. He's such a viable third tall.

Second ruck can be a shandy of Balta, Astbury, Martin and whoever - worked alright last week. I was keen for Chol as back up ruck - but have settled for the fact that this season is over for him and that he will transform over the next pre-season into a mini-Natanui.

please no, we dont need him in the team

How many tall defenders does Port have? Lynch and Jack need quality talls on them. Chol as the 3rd string tall forward is where he did his best work this year. Would also allow Dave, Noah and Broad(unless omitted) to control our backline a bit better. Noah's worst game was against Port.

But who do you drop?

Unchanged for me. Unless Markvo or Ross for Lambert

It is a difficult decision as going into the PF against Port with only 1 ruck is a big risk.

But the way Chol has performed of late I just can't see how you could pick him.

Then again, didn't he play well against Port last time? That certainly was a high pressure game.

I suspect they will be talking to Nank too about how well he would cope with going up against the Port rucks on his own, might just be too much for one ruck.

The point you make about Cholly is a good one.

I was loving him when he was in form, then of late, wanting him out of the team.

But as you point out, when he was looking good, it was when he was the sidekick of a sidekick to JR & TL. I had been against the idea of brining him in, but as a back up ruck and third tall, it sounds far nicer. He aslo doesnt exatly play like just a tall. He is astoundinly agile for a big guy and moves like a small. Intersting
