Changes V Pies

This game is going to be ugly.....in quality and maybe result. On paper the team looks seriously poor in mid and HB. There are just so many injuries you can fill unfortunately....

We need some height against the Pies so what do the MC do? Ignore the one bit of tall timber left in the club uninjured. Miller will never get the chance to play for the Tigers
This is his 5th year on the list. He has been going pretty well and may have been leading the VFL team in Morris’s absence?
And he can’t get a game in a side which is missing Balta and Broad, against a forward line likely to include Mason Cox. This belongs in the George file.

I hate going into games with hope, rather than confidence.
Yep. That’s how I feel.
Hope we win
My fear is a loss from another struggling team, GC ridicule was bad but if you go down against collingwobbles it will be worst

Very difficult to be optimistic after the last 3 games.
Like you I am hoping but not confident, especially with the input of unseasoned players.
Then again, hope springs eternal.

If we can't get this done then forget about it.

yes.

a nerve wracking wait.

if the old banged up waning champs turn up, its 3 funerals in 3 weeks,

but if Nank lifts us up, and the champs respond,

suddenly, we are all day and night dreaming of storming into a GF against any of the top 4,

and dusty winning a 4th NS, and shocking being abmitted to a psych ward with the first known case of clinical 'troubledness' in a white man

Our biggest issue are centre clearances, our game plan of winning the ball back without a ruck and healthy mids has not worked this year. The ball has often gone over our heads.

Dimma keeping George and Aarts in means that the midfield has to get balls into the forward line for them to influence any contest, but the oppo has worked out how to counter a chaos ball with a ‘Grimes goalkeeper posi’ or restricting the amount of inside 50s (from clearances).

Other inside 50s are not delivered with precision to our key forwards who are scragged and not rewarded, so both avenues are inhibited from a lack of midfield influence/clearances… when we do have the ball in the midfield we are pressured immensely and rush/bomb it.

When we lose clearances from anywhere on the ground, the oppo is quick to fire it into our backline… our backs are targeted hard, borderline body contact of which they are not worried about getting a free paid against them - it will either result in an injured back and upset the lineup to their advantage or get a free. Incremental wins here then blow out. This is what we use to do when we won clearances. We are being fed our own game plan.

Which brings me back to the midfield which is underperforming due to injuries and inconsistent game time. I would like to see the ins with dual/triple roles - feeding through midfield.

I don’t know if this was the right place, but that is what I had on my mind.

In Players to play hard, run hard, link up better, hold a bloody mark.
Out Stupid mistakes, fumbling, arguing with the ump.

Short season for us.

Scrounge 4 points against Collingwood as a first step.

Have all the battle-scarred warriors humming around Round 19.

I reckon we only got 8 weeks of chaos left in us.

Imagine it, Ezy. Just imagine it.

not many realise that Nank is our No.1 clearance player.

hes our No.1 ruck, our No.1 rover, our No.1 squasher, and our co-spiritual leader

all in 1.

Chol is to Nank as Christopher Pyne is to Muhammed Ali

Dimma described missing Nank in a very interesting way in his presser. "There's 10 contested possessions gone right there".

Just watched the presser.

I think Dimma pointed to the the cover of

'Redemption; The Sydney Stack Story'

I got the impression he plays on Sunday, which excites me more than any possible selection story. MRJ would compete.

liked hearing what he said about bakes too.

hopefully we are entering the final phase of the H&A which has defined our dynasty, which as far as we can control, is about continuity

Nank is the link, and not to forget Soldo.

Nank is the link, and not to forget Soldo.

I used to think he made room for dusty and dion and cotchy and sheds to execute a clearance.

However, the numbers clearly show, he makes the room, then clears it himself.

Even though we all rate him as highly as is humanly possible,

he's underrated.

He's our greatest ever ruckman.
