Changes v Mutts

Oleg should've probably been delisted before Menadue.

He was just lucky to have an extra year.

Has been ordinary every time hes come in since his debut year.

Never looked like it too soft to be a defender, no presence as a winger at AFL level so pressure forward may be his last chance and this game might well be his last chance.

I am not a fan but in saying that I hope he kicks 5 goals.

Mostly agree that he is very lucky to be on the list. However I think it’s a good in as if he is allowed to run and carry the ball from defence he will bring another attacking element to our sling shot game. In years gone by he would have played over 50 games by now.

Will be a big challenge, but our best with this 22 should be enough... Fingers, toes and eyes crossed!

It could mean Lambert goes back to his role at high half-forward connector, meaning Rioli and George don't have to go so far up the ground and be exhausted when it comes time to rove our forward entries.

I think @eZyT is right, we need to reduce our VFL quota, which means Naish and Aarts out for Chimp and Stack. Eggs stays because our defence can carry him and Houli is 32.

Midfield battle. Soldo needs to lay down the law to English. First bounce, knee in the kidneys. All night, lean on him like Tyson Fury leaned on Wilder. Let him know who's bigger. Man him up when he sits behind the play. We don't need our ruck sitting back to stop Josh 'towing a tractor tyre' Bruce.

You could argue Bont is a top-3 player in the comp, I could prove Dusty is top-1. Smith is a young star, he's one we should pay attention to. Not sure Graham or Chimp could keep up with him in general play but at stoppages one of them should make themselves well-acquainted with him as fiercely and as often as possible.

Macrae is one of my least favourite players in the league, the way he goes to ground in an (usually successful) attempt to win a too-high free. But he can play, and racks the pill up. I hesitate to use @Dyer'ere 's jail cell analogy, but Marlion looks ideal for him.

Soldo-Dusty-Chimp-Shai-Marlion-Stack-Graham v English-Bont-Smith-Macrae-Libba-Lipinski-Richards. Smash em.
Nice work Spook. Now that the midfield is sorted can we now sort out our defence. That Vlastuin injury is gonna hurt. Irreplaceable!

Not sure why everyone thinks the dogs at Metricon are tougher than GWS in Sydeny?

Unfortunately the dogs dropped Young and included Lloyd thereby increasing forward ability by 50 but they have the worst forward line in the league. Sammy is the best and smartest forward. Gowers? Suckling? Vandermeer?

We just need to tag the Bont and stop the midget and Johanneson running too freely off half back. Crozier is overrated (i used to rate him but he's a defensive leper) as is Wood. English can be physically intimidated. Cordy is average as is Keath. Cody weightman reminds me of matty dundas sans the ability.

The gold coast should have beaten them. We will beat them.

I like that some of our marginal players are getting some game time. While everyone hopes they do well, its still a good yardstick to see how close to the mark they are if they don't. If some of these guys get deleted at the end of the year - cest la vie - but at least they had a chance to shine on the main stage.

Gowers played like Gary Ablett Snr last time along with Naughton.

Their half backs and wingers tore us a new one all night last year and the defence eventually caved under the constant onslaught.

Gowers is the spud that will probably have his day out again if not watched.

Vlastuin wouldve been perfect for him.

Grimes and Broad will have to watch him.

Vlast out is a worry he's been solid.. the others not so much ..
Markov needs to be clean and use his speed.
Looking forward to seeing Stack rip the Dogs a new one ..

I hear you Craig. But the one constant when we’ve played them during their recent winning stretch against us has been the venue. They will not get that luxury at Metricon. I’m quietly confident despite our missing personnel.

Forwards need to fire this week. With Vlas, Dave and Bacha out of our best back 6 can't expect them to keep dogs to 7 or 8 goals.

You are seriously underrating them

Don’t forget Bruce who became Tony Lockett every time we played the Saints.

This is a side that gives us trouble when we're travelling better than we are right now. We've won one out of the last six against the Dogs and fell across the line in that. They toyed with us last year and pretty much didn't let us have the ball. Forwards must apply the pressure.

Tigga being managed imo, if he had a serious issue he wouldve come from the field during the game.

Vlas might just have a slight bit of tightness and with 2 more games in quick time coming, the club has no doubt taken the safe option to rest him.

Should we risk him and he does his calf he'll be done for 5-6 weeks.

He said he did the injury at training on Monday
