Changes v GC

Bring in Parker. We need some more manic tackling pressure. Have gone soft this year

If you don’t want to run in a straight line towards the ball or otherwise put yourself in harms way to get the ball, or physically can no longer do either, you won’t.
Being experienced doesn’t help.
Dimma has evidently accepted that two of his long time favourites no longer justify selection and has sent them back.
Common sense demands that he looks at two more.
Not saying he will. Just saying he should.
No it's not common sense. Common sense says until you put the cue in the rack, all else equal you will choose the experience. It is highly unlikely any new blood will out perform say a Houli. at this point in time. You might be willing to take that risk for one player, 2 at a stretch but nor when 3 of your most experienced backmen have just been injured and out.

From Dimma press conference - Prestia out, as with Broad and Balta and expect a few others too with the comment we have some sore/injured bodies. Tom plays, comes in for Ryan, CCJ and Chol play. Miller is VERY close. Wont have to wait long for team selections - tomorrow night!

I reckon the following:
RCD for Prestia
Dave for Balta
Miller for Broad
Tom for Ryan
other ins and outs will depend on how injuries to Vlaustin, Mabs pan out
Those calling for George, Arts and Houli to be dropped will be disappointed. Unlikely to make too many unforced changes with so much experience out already. Form isn't the only factor selectors take into account - team balance and experience are crucial factors.

Houli has to be dropped. Looked like a 50yold soft cripple last week.

Big selection calls this and the next few weeks. Will determine if we play finals or not. Not very confident they will make the right calls anymore considering this years terrible ins. Going by Dimmas presser i can only see Dave and Lynch coming in. Didnt sound too confident regarding Miller which would be a travesty if he is not selected with the call they made on Ryan and 2 KPD going down.
Very concerned atm

On Miller, he said he's in the squad but we haven't trained yet this week.

I think we normally tell players at training that they're making their debut, so probably just didn't want to tell the media before the player.

The Brisbane Lions are set for a hurried departure from Queensland and will head to Melbourne on Tuesday afternoon, while Gold Coast’s match against Richmond is likely to be moved from Metricon Stadium to Marvel Stadium.

Amid another esculation of the COVID-19 logistics crisis, club sources said the Lions, who are fixtured to face the Crows at Adelaide Oval on Saturday, had been due to leave on Wednesday. But their departure has been brought forward in light of Queensland’s developing COVID-19 situation.

Sources also indicated the Gold Coast Suns are set to depart Queensland on Tuesday. Sources expect the match to be played at Marvel Stadium on Thursday night.

Hope so. Other concern is the reluctance to drop a Houli, George or Aarts. I also hope they dont entertain the idea of Caddy back in

Lets just see how good Brisbane is.

Haven't seen a win live for a while so if it's at Marvel I hope to see one... surely???

After the home game against adelaide was relocated to sydney, maybe the club can organise home game entry rights for members as the make up game?

In Miller, Astbury, RCD, Lynch, Dow
Out Broad, Balta, Prestia, Ryan, Castagna (needs a refresh in the 2's IMO)

Though George has been good at Marvel this year so could only be the 1st 4. If Chol is out, then Miller into the ruck with CJ and bring in Caddy and play him in Broads role. He's smart enough to play it without training it.
