I think there's an argument for this week. We have no forward line against a side whose intercept markers are a strength.why do people keep wanting to move Balta. Having a breakout year at Full back and marking everything. LEAVE HIM THERE
I don't know if it is a fact but usually when you are named in the starting line-up you don't end up omitted so think and training indicated Miller stays in.Good ins:
I reckon minis 'tough MC' comment may refer to marlion having a game in the 2s
and mellee and miller might have a rest?
Out: pickett, melee, miller
in: sampo, ryan, shorty, coaltrain (sub)
I still dont know how the *smile* sub works with ins and outs
I think this is a good side, although significantly less tough. Significantly.
Maybe we can get away with being a bit pissweak against The Dees?
Maybe we cant?
I dont mind what we're doing
Hope it’s Pickett not Banks omittedI don't know if it is a fact but usually when you are named in the starting line-up you don't end up omitted so think and training indicated Miller stays in.
Cumberland and Shorty in, Coulthard another week as sub.
Out: Mansel and Banks
On paper they haven’t picked a tall forward line so I expect Petty to play forwardI think there's an argument for this week. We have no forward line against a side whose intercept markers are a strength.
We don't have Lynch or Gibcus.
Bauer was our solution, and is injured.
And critically, Melbourne have no one back for Balta to play on.
I don't think it's a discussion of whether Balta should be tried forward, he's a clearly established backman now, and one of the best in the league. It's a discussion of how do we win this week.
I would sit him on Steven May and say, pretend you're in the backline and take your 10 marks playing off May. Just turn the other way to launch your 60 metre bombs.
It would straighten us up massively to have someone who can take a contested mark to kick to.
The reality is, while Balta's been crucial to the way we've played as a back man, we can't play the way we've played over the last few weeks and win. We will need to be brave this week.
You would think so. Tomlinson, Lever, & May all named in the back 6 already. 4 KPD's is obviously 1 too many.On paper they haven’t picked a tall forward line so I expect Petty to play forward
If Petty plays forward, that will give Young someone to play on.On paper they haven’t picked a tall forward line so I expect Petty to play forward
Balta will be needed down back
They also have Van Rooyen who is I think Young will go to.If Petty plays forward, that will give Young someone to play on.
If Grundy plays Miller or Ryan must playGut is telling me it'll be just Short in for Miller & Grundy will play.
Balta did little when he played forward previously. He's not suddenly going to turn it on. If Balta doesn't play back we lose, he's that important for us there right now. Be brave sure but to me that would just be silly.I think there's an argument for this week. We have no forward line against a side whose intercept markers are a strength.

agree. hence I'm of the opinion Ryan needs to play just as much for the ruck than as forward. both as crucial IMOIf Grundy plays Miller or Ryan must play
