Changes v Dees

How do you change a winning team? Or why should you change a winning team?

Because winning teams don't have every player playing well. We beat the Eagles but Junior didn't play well and was dropped. Underperformers must be dropped and those in the reserves need to know that good form will be rewarded. Keeps players hungry.

I'd like to see him play more than one stand-out game in the VFL, showing he's above the level and more reliable in effort, confidence and concentration.
Problem is, with the bye next week, we may not see him for another 3 weeks.
Season more or less over and too late to experiment

Sensible move not bringing in Shorty for this game. We need him 100% so just bringing him back one week early could have the same disastrous effect that we had regarding Lynch earlier on in the season as we have lost him for the season by rushing him back

Mansell and Pickett kicked a combined score of 0.1 last week. One of them had to be dropped.

If only that standard was applied to all players

As much as coulthard excited given the main squad is set I’m hoping Noah gets the vest and comes on halfway through the second.

This is where the term 'a win wallpapers over the cracks' is very apt.

A 1 point win over the 16th side and no changes?

Ok then.

Puzzling we we're crap for 3 quarters of footy not one change lol to many chances for the favourites. Matthew Coulthard gave us that spark looks like his sub. Noah Cumberland performs still can't get a game in our incompetent forward line.Hugo Ralphsmith straight to emergency lol.

I'm surprised as everyone with this week's selection, and just like the Reserve Bank's decisions on interest rates we're not going to get an explanation. My guess is that because Hawthorn kicked 14 goals 1 after their first goal, which is NOT normal, that in reality we were a "six goal better team" , and no changes were warranted.

The Hawks still kicked 14 goals 1, regardless of whether it was normal or not. Odd occurrences happen in football.

Looks like the match committee have fallen for the trick of using 'we were the better team' to justify last weeks result.

I am not really impressed.
We were poor for almost 3 quarters v Hawks.
Slow as slow can be!
Forget the scores..the third bottom team was beating us easily. Not good enough.
We are now a very slow side.

Look at the Pies..an average team in terms of tallent..but they all run and run.
When Couthard came on we suddenly had run and overlap and were far better.
We need more run...Coulthard and Cumbo both need to play.
Banks was good.
Pickett..once a great player. .is now a shadow of himself.
Mansell an honest trier but not AFL level.
Both players out for C Train and Cumbo.
Miller..geez..not involved enough.
He is a spectator. I dont think he has a great footy IQ. Sampson better.

Bottom line..too slow to match Dees around the ground. Hope I am wrong.

For me, this is Mini's first misstep as coach.

If we line up as suggested, we have lost this game at selection.

It's cliche, but in sport you gotta risk it to get the biscuit..

We cannot win playing the same style and personnel as last week. Cumberland needed to come in. Pickett needed a change of position or to be dropped. Coulthard needed to play. And if not Balta forward, then Ryan.

That forward line cannot deliver a winning score against quality opposition.

It's a shame. We needed this win for top 4.
