Changes V Big big sound Giants

Some brave selections sticking with the kids. McIntosh, Pickett, George and Caddy all premiership players available but not picked. Hopefully the kids can rip it up. Big test for Dow, Hugo and MJ.

Richmond's second-youngest, second-shortest and second-lightest team for the year.
I assume that because we are unchanged last week must have been the youngest etc.

Interesting that they punted Briggs for Mummy. Nank had a big game against Flynn and Briggs in R9.

What chance Nank gets a hold of Mummy?

I'll be interested to see how Sproule goes this week. He was very effective in an ambush last week. Destroyed them mid game. We've had a look at him now. Might be a chance for CJ to shine with his tap work.

Greene is a big out for them. We look pretty well in here IMO.

Last time we played them we dominated pressure acts.

Let’s hope so R.

In the olden glorious days we used to go quiet in the second quarter. Five minutes of burst then 20 of soaking it up. Defensive formations and movement. Then a cheap goal or two before the break. Energy banked for planned group berserking in the second half.

Even at this late stage of the season it still looks like we don't have any plan for that quarter or the one before it.

The plan for the second halves is now obvious. Find some cohesion, move the ball, connect.

Against lowly North we were able to implement the very limited plan for an hour. And against lowly Freo the week prior we were able to get some cohesion, connection, scoring for 30 minutes. With 90 minutes of sheiser.

This week it would be good to see what the plan is in the first and second quarters. Getting a kick would be a good start. Cohesion, connection and scoring would be real good. And I wouldn't mind seeing us soak it up in a planned way in the second. As a gambit before we monster the Giants.

I have a plan - how about we do better than zero centre clearances in both the first and second quarters.

I watched the game against North today, we are woeful in the centre, when we finally did get a clearance or two (last quarter maybe) our forward line suddenly looked a hell of a lot better.

They're 7-3-1 with Mumford in the side. He doesn't dominate against us and is sore every time he plays now, but his inclusion helps them.

Last time Dusty was the difference and we needed a lucky bounce at the death. Reckon the odds are all wrong on this one.

We are the biggest certainty of the year. Will not lose. Can’t lose. Reckon we get out to close to 1.90 as well. Beg borrow and steal and get on

It’s starting to adjust. $1.60 yesterday. $1.65 now. Should be about $1.70 maybe.

I dunno, L2.

Our #2 mid on the day was Baker. Nank was giving our depleted midfield plenty of cover. Baker was real good but IMO batting way too high at #2. I would pot any side with Baker as #2 mid. And maybe he played #1 for much of the game.

Last time Hopper had 11 clearances and 7 score involvements. (I think he's a plodder.) Baker had 7 and 7. Hopper 400m gained to Baker 500 odd. Baker more aggressive with the ball. Hopper doesn't worry me. I think Prestia can go ok.

Prestia is our best mid IMO. He's a big inclusion. He's a nett gain on Dusty in some ways. Better clearance player. Just not as good at the other stuff but nobody is.

The big in for this meeting could be D e B o e r. He's no champion but he can beat a good player. And he's busy. Active. He's not a ring a rosy battler. He may get the job on Prestia.

Taryn Thomas got off the leash last week when Cotchin went onto him. Graham destroyed Thomas. Had a party. Cotchin should get an easier task this week. JWK. Slow. Not big. Or Taranto, who is not very inside. He's a link man. And I suppose the old Chimp could find a bit more form. He was trending the right way until late in the North game.

Lambert is a big in for us. Along with Chimp and Dion he pushes Baker into the right part of the batting order. And if we can use Shedda more effectively (defensive lapses!) he will be a big in too. Even if he doesn't run too far defensively he can kick a couple and we are looking for him to ignite our assaults with his handball.

They may have D e B o e r in. But we have Prestia, Lambert, half of Trent Cotchin and half of Shane Edwards. We are fielding something of a midfield. A midfield getting, at last, a little continuity.

We'll be pretty disappointed if we can't get the points here.

Bruhn played a defensive role on Selwood last week. Got a hiding but formed up well and learned a bit.

Ash was the one who improved in a run with role. Parfitt? Can't remember now. (Parfitt was exposed up the order IMO.) Ash was ok. May get Shai this week.

Ash was on Guthrie.

Interesting match ahead.

I can't blame you for that, L2.

Mr Damien Hardwick had a rethink and injected some energy. Rioli, Stack, Parker. MoJu. We are motoring. We lack class but we can once again bring heat.

Ross, RCD, Aarts, Mabior, George out.

Continuity is key now. No Change.
